I hate that I can't leave a review for the salon separately because that is where my issues are. I booked an appointment with Anja for a haircut and expecting a balayage. She immediately told me she did not know how to do a balayage and would book me with a different stylist, I told her if she couldn't balayage, full head of highlights would be fine as well, but she continued to make excuses and I eventually told her to not do it and to just wash and cut my hair. I THOUGHT we agreed on a length as I had told her I did not want to lose any length and I wanted a trim. We also agreed on a "U" shape in the back and NO layers. As she was cutting my hair, she told me she was going to put in layers, AS she was cutting them, so I had no chance to tell her to stop. And her technique for layers was questionable. I have never had a hairstylist pull the crown of my hair to the front in a pony tail to give me "layers". And I cannot even begin to explain how many times this woman told me my hair was "damaged". She asked me how i felt about the cut and I said it was a lot shorter than expected or agreed on. She simply said "oh okay" and walked away. When she came back she just kept saying my hair was "damaged" and she had to cut it off. She washed my hair very aggressively and then blamed my hair being "damaged" as to why it was so difficult to untangle. Not to mention she completely got the round brush stuck in my hair as she was giving me a blowout. My hair cut came out short and the layers are choppy, and the left side is noticeably shorter than the right. I left the salon in tears and embarrassed. But hey, I guess my hair is no longer "damaged", just a choppy mess, and not any blonder than I was before. If you do use their salon, DO NOT book with Anja. Her "30 years experience" are not apparent in her work or her...
Read moreI used to absolutely love coming into the store. But for the last 6 months to a year, this particular Ulta has had horrible customer service overall. On one trip, they had big signs for sales on popular nail polish. When I got to the register, they wouldn't honor the prices stating that the sale was over the day before. When I asked why the promo signs were still up if the sale was over, the cashier asked the manager who rudely responded, "The valid dates are on the sign. Do you want it or not?" Of course I don't want that!! It isn't my responsibility to try to find the "end date" on the 5FT sale sign that is posted in the FRONT of the store!! I did go back to view the sign, and it was a date on there...in about 7pt font on the bottom!! My goodness...they should at least keep the sale promotions current! On top of that, the rude manager, could have simply apologized that the out-of-date sign was still posted and nicely said she couldn't honor it! I couldn't believe how she spoke to me! I didn't return to the store until I absolutely had to a few months later, only to find that, OF COURSE, they didn't have the regular makeup palettes in stock, let alone the sale items in the catalog they send in the mail. Out of frustration, I resorted to calling ahead to see if they had an item in stock that is only carried at Ulta, only to wait on the phone for 8 minutes with no one returning to the phone!! Terrible! Ultimately, I pretty much refuse to go in that store and I frequent the the local Sephora in Fayetteville instead. When I'm in town, I will visit the Ulta stores in Garner and Raleigh because the customer service is amazing! The Fayetteville Ulta store needs to get it together! It doesn't take much to make people happy...just be kind and helpful when needed and keep the store...
Read moreI was looking at the new Juvias foundation because I needed help choosing a new shade and right next to me there was a group of 3-4 associates just laughing away instead of asking me if I needed help. I had been walking around that area for a good 30 minutes to see if I could find anyone else to help me, but it was a very busy Saturday. I had to walk around the entire store to find someone because the associates who were not with clients were just hanging out. After 30 minutes, I kindly had to interrupt a conversation between 2 associates to ask for help because I was starving and literally only came to Ulta to get ONE thing I needed. I ask the girl to color match me for the Juvias foundation and she tells me she can’t because it’s a “self-serve brand.” This doesn’t make sense to me because I had went to a different Ulta store and they were extremely helpful there and they color matched me to this foundation with no problem. However, I got the opposite response here after having to chase someone down for 30 minutes. So I told her I’ve been matched at an Ulta store before and she offers to give me her advice. After choosing a random shade for me, she tells me to go to a station and get a sponge to try it on and walks away. I follow behind her because I thought she was going to take me to a station since i hardly go there & didn’t know where to go, and she just walks out. Like really??? I had to walk around for 30 minutes to get someone’s attention, got dirty looks by the associates who were just hanging out rather than helping, then got told I can’t be color matched, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I walked right out and I will never shop...
