I honestly didn’t know what to expect when walking into this shop. I’ve heard stories about most shops, being shady by under pricing items you bring into them. Also, stories of being taken advantage of; which prevented me from going into pawn shops in the first place. I was faced with an emergency situation, and the only choice I had was to try to pick the best one to go to . After reading some reviews and calling around, I finally decided Don’s was the place I would give a chance in hopes they would be an honest business. Walking in my first impression was that it’s very clean and organized. The employees were welcoming and very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was more of a family feel and they are definitely a stand up / honest business. They were able to help me in my emergency situation with righteous prices and terms. I for sure won’t even waste my time or energy going into any other shop. I initially went in to price out a laptop, was greeted by a woman. She didn’t work there but was helping out her husband that owns the store. After her husband (owner) was done assisting another customer I went to the counter to get more information on the laptop I was trying to purchase. My partner was looking at the guitars and made a comment on how nice the guitars were. I instantly noticed a stuffed animal hanging by a noose. I made a comment, “I feel bad for the hippo” the wife turns and says “That’s not a hippos that’s a monkey with his bling bling.” I am an African American woman and so is my partner and my son.
