Edit: Pat reached out to me and was very understanding and we talked through my experience. The employee that I dealt with has quite a few good reviews so it might have just been an off day. We are going with someone else for the counter but I will check back at Norm's Bargain Barn if I need something down the road.
I try to be careful with reviews because I understand how damaging they can be to a company, whenever I have great service I try to go out of my way to leave reviews, inconveniences I typically overlook. I did want to take a minute to share my experience at Norm's Bargain Barn. I went in there to look for countertop options for my dad's rental. I have the measurements of the areas that need countertop. Other than that I don't really know how to get the process started. I went in to talk to one of the associates, two women were in the office. I asked for help and felt like I was pulling teeth the whole time. There are signs that you can't pick up the samples until you've asked for help (because of Covid) but I couldn't find a prices on anything, she couldn't give me prices, even ball parks unless we picked out samples. I told her I didn't even know what type of countertop I wanted, instead of giving me any information about it she kind of gestured at one wall with samples, when I showed her the samples I actually liked she told me those were only for bathrooms (why they are sitting in the kitchen center I don't know). Instead of helping me find out what might be a comparable alternative she just kind of didn't do anything. She chose a sample, I gave her my measurements, and she gave me an idea on price. I guess as a price point, but I still have no idea what colors that might apply to, what other costs would be involved, how to get the process rolling, etc. I asked several times how people normally go about this, explained that I felt like I was going about it backwards because I had to keep asking her questions to draw information out of her. The other associate didn't try to help or explain things either. I don't know if she was just too busy to try to help or normally people know exactly what they're doing when they try to replace countertops, or what but it was a really...
Read moreKourtney Nyga is a designer and representative for the Lifestyle Kitchens and Baths, a division of the Wilke Window and Door Company in Fenton, Missouri and Shiloh, Illinois.
I gotta say it, my experience there was first class. I had looked everywhere high and low / Loews, Home Depot, Costco, Sam's Club, you name it, I just could not find the right dimensions for a vanity I needed and I needed it very badly. When I checked things out with Kourtney at Lifestyle Kitchens and Baths in Fenton, I found the exact vanity I needed, found it fast, and for a great price as well.
The entire team there is service focused. Kourtney was helping me from the moment I arrived until the delivery was made. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and accommodating to the max. I bought the vanity I needed and Kourtney did the work to get the sale done and set up the delivery too. The delivery driver was very friendly and professional and he showed up exactly on time.
I cannot say enough about the accountability, pricing, follow through, and the professional style of all the Wilke / Lifestyle team. If perfection means that a company does not do extraordinary things but instead just does ordinary things extraordinarily well, then Kourtney and all the team at Wilke has got the knack. Give them a try.
You will not be disappointed and I...
Read moreCurrently remodeling our new home. I’ve visited this location and hopes to find bathroom vanities and sinks. with zero prior experience installing cabinets and sinks, I asked the gentleman working for some help. I told him the size of my space and the style cabinet that I was looking for, but I wasn’t sure if the sink vanity needed to be the same size of the cabinet, small or larger. The gentleman said that the sink vanity needed to be the same size as the cabinet. We picked out what we wanted and finalize our transaction. We had to wait a few days because the vanity we ordered was at their Illinois location. When we got our items home, we realized that the vanity sink didn’t fit. There was a massive gap. The vanity sink didn’t sit into the cabinet like it should. Come to find out, after speaking to a different individual at this location, the vanity sink needs to be smaller than the cabinet. This was a very unfortunate situation as we were told all sales are final, and there wasn’t anything they could do to make it right since the original gentleman who helped us, let us in the wrong direction. Lesson learned is do your own research before trusting someone else to lead you in the right direction. We did our best to make it work but overall, our vanity sinks and cabinets...
