Awful experience. Terrible Customer Service and no Communication.
I dropped my machine off 10/13/25 for a repair & was given no information other than it would be a $50 deposit and they may have to order a part and would call me if the repair exceeds a certain amount. (I am new to this hobby and have never had to take my machine anywhere to be repaired) I called 10/22/25 to see if i could get an update and the older woman who works in the store answers the phone as if i have inconvenience her with my question. She then proceeds to tell me that my machine has only been there since 10/13 and I acknowledged her. She then reiterated that my machine has been there for exactly a week and a half, so which I responded “Yes.” She the goes on to tell me that i have “at least another 3-4 weeks before it will be seen” & i replied “Oh, I was not told this at the time I dropped it off” (let’s remember this is all new to me, so I am unaware of usual time frames for this kind of work) After I told her i wasn’t told it would take that long she then tells me that the 3-4 weeks is just to have the machine looked at and if they need to order a part it will take longer. I say again that I wasn’t told it would take that long, not getting upset with her…I just didn’t know. She then says “OK well have a good day” and goes to hang up the phone which i respond “excuse me?” and she says “well is there anything else you need” & the phone conversation was over.
After i got off work that day I immediately went to the store to pick up my machine because I will not give my business to someone who speaks to me that way. I got to the store and the older lady was at counter, with the same attitude she had on the phone. I asked her to get my machine because I do not want anyone at that store working on it. She gets my machine and the gentleman that works there helped her give my deposit back and neither of the said a word to me……I got my machine and looks at them and asked “Are you even interested in why I wouldn’t want you to work on my machine?” to which the older lady just shrugged her shoulders at me. The gentleman did say he was interested & I explained the above to him and walked out.
A little customer service goes a long way and I ca promise you that word of mouth about a business will go even further. I will not be returning, in fact, I just dropped of my machine to Heyde and THE NICEST ladies helped me through the process and I will have my machine back in 10 days.

The inexperienced repairmen since the owner of Heyde's husband passed away. I know this because my sewing friends USED to go to Heyde Sewing Machine for all their needs. I understand through my sewing grapevine group that they are training 2 guys to LEARN how to repair machines. I have NEVER been so happy with the service and the repair from Fenton Sew and Vac. They told me it would be about a week and it was done in one day! YES one day! I can't say enough about the staff the repairmen, the entire store. They have everything! I will never go anywhere else for sewing machine or vaccum repairs. Yes they give you an estimate just so you're not shocked at the repair price. I would do the same if I owned a business. People expect something for nothing nowadays. Who ever Gail is that made a 1 star review needs to take a chill pill because I have NEVER had such a pleasant experience as I did with Fenton Sew and Vac. Read moreIt is very unfortunate that I have to write this review for this particular business, but I simply hate it when someone simply tells you a lie with a straight face. My vacuum cleaner, Electrolux, that has been working great for more than 6 years, was broken. I took it to one repair shop but they did not have the expertise to deal with it and honestly told me that. This particular shop is an authorized repair center and when I called them they said they will take a look at it the same day and will let me know. So, I drove 20 miles, dropped it off and once again was assured that they will call before the end of business with an estimate. They did not. So I called them, and was told they did not get to it on Friday, but will definitely get back to me on Saturday. The guy said, again, that my cleaner is first in line to be dealt with. Guess what? The Saturday came and went, I called again and was told that they might get to it on Monday, because they have a lot of units ahead of mine. I asked why wasn't I told that on Friday?
