Ocean Surf Shop — Local services in Folly Beach

Ocean Surf Shop is nothing short of spectacular. The staff are incredibly kind, outgoing, and are always very willing and happy to interact with you, answering whatever questions you may have. They don’t relegate themselves to staying behind the counter and I can always tell they very genuinely care.

I bought my Gary Wilson longboard from them, and in the entire process—from initial browsing and selection to even include post-sale support— they were absolutely phenomenal. Every step of the way. They educated me and helped me make an informed decision that led to buying a board that I love taking to the water every weekend.

I’ve honestly never had an experience at Ocean Surf Shop that didn’t meet or exceed the standards they’ve already set in my mind.

I am an intermediate surfer with 2 years of consistent surfing experience and was in Charleston for the weekend. They rented a surfboard to us on a 25mph NE blownout day, with even stronger gusts, after I asked if there was even the slightest chance we could surf at all, and if we could get a discount to rent only a couple hours. The manager emphatically assured we could still ride waves and that it would be fun, and that they didn't rent for less than 24h. I find it lame and scammy. Easy earned $35 for an hour... The board is paid for in 2 weeks. I'd be ashamed to do business like that, and I will...

I stopped here while visiting last week. An item I purchased somehow didn't make it in the bag, and I didn't realize until they were closed, and we had to leave town the following morning before they opened. I called up the next day, and they apologized and offered to ship it to me. Great service, right?? It didn't end there! Not only did they ship it to me, but they included a free hat with a handwritten note! Thank you so much guys! Can't wait to come again next time I'm in town!
