What happens when you go looking for “The Once and Future Witches” by Alix E. Harrow? Hopefully you to find yourself at Ruby’s Books, and you you spot author N K Jemisin‘s collection “How Long Til Black Future Month?”. It’s easy to do spot because of the gorgeous cover, though tough to choose from the dizzying array of works by authors of color on prominent display (all over the store). As soon as I read page 1 it felt liked I’d pulled up a chair at a table where Octavia Butler was hosting a happy hour with the fellow literary legends she inspired. Next you see the poster for Ruby’s reading challenge with compelling themes, that you can participate in year round. As I was picking up the book I’d originally ordered, plus the second I couldn’t leave behind, I had the pleasure of Ruby’s newest literary concierge enthrall me with her recommendation of “The Invisible Life of Addie Larue” by V.E. Schwab. Summary: I entered looking for one book and left with three! This book store is friendly, their staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about connecting you with great reads. They have an online store so you don’t have to shop on Amazon, they carry lettering supplies, greeting cards, and other novelties by local designers. Plus, Ruby the namesake herself presides: a regal and friendly retriever who welcomes belly-rubs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a delightful haven for book lovers! From the moment you step through the door of this charming bookstore, you’re enveloped in the cozy embrace of literary treasures. The staff here are not just knowledgeable but genuinely passionate about literature, ready to recommend hidden gems or engage in lively discussions about your latest literary finds. I just finished Compendium of the Emerald Tablets by Billy Carson which is a heavy read and wanted to fulfill my fictional fixin😊. I’ve searched other bookstores for Morrison’s Bluest Eyes with no luck. As I walked through the door, this classic caught my eye. It’s been 2 days and I’ve finished. I’ll be back to visit my new and favorite bookstore.

Ruby’s is the cutest bookstore! The staff was incredibly helpful and clearly know their books—they gave great recommendations and were so friendly. The shop is full of charming gifts and unique finds, and the atmosphere is warm and beautifully curated. Best of all, Ruby the dog makes the whole experience even sweeter—she’s the perfect bookstore pup and adds so much personality to the place. A must-visit!

Ruby's is simply bookstore perfection! Walk into this bookstore and you are immediately greeted by Ruby (the most gentle golden retriever) and a knowledgable staff of readers who are SO passionate about books of all kinds! They have been the source of so many great book recommendations over the past few years! It's so fun to talk books with friendly people who love a good book as much as I do! I've even switched over to ordering my audiobooks through their libro.fm app. They have thoughtfully selected in-store collection as well as a VERY efficient ordering system for anything I can't find in store right away. I can just order it online and pick it up a few days later. So happy to support a local bookstore that gives back to our community in so many ways! Keep up the good work Ruby and Stacy and all your...
