A friend and I were paying for our things, we each had 1 item. My buddy went first. She's 5'9", fairly fit, looks great. The short, 5" 2" black, African/Caribbean accented female cashier took one look at my friend, smiled so sweetly, asked if she'd like to apply for a store card to get 5% off. My buddy declined, saying she already had one. Ok, I went next, TOTALLY expecting the cashier to offer me the same darn thing. I have a median FICO of 810, own my own business, have 2 homes that I rent out. I'd LOVE a Target card. WRONG!, she took one look at me, judged me in 2 seconds from head to toe....I'm overweight, and I guess look lazy as hell to her. The incorrect stereotype of overweight people is that we sit around all day and watch Jerry Springer. The cashier just rang me up, zero eye contact, and handed me my change. The next customer, tall, handsome guy, Dr. Oz type, nice & fit, she smiled all 32 teeth at him and was just about to ask if he'd like a card. I was very disturbed. The weight discrimination was so obvious!!! I asked her quietly why she didn't offer me a card. She stuttered, stammered, swallowed hard stalling to find the lie I would accept. She said, Oh, well, your friend was talking, I didn't want to interrupt." HUH!!!?? My buddy was quiet a s a church mouse! Then she heard how stupid that sounded, and gave me a fake forced grin, saying, "O, uh, um, well, uh, would you like to apply with me now? I mean...uh..." I said ABSOLUTELY NOT NOW!!! I walked out, called the store manager from the pkg. lot. I told her the cashier unfairly judged me, and Carolyn had the coconuts to actually tell me that usually when a customer buys a large amount of things, the cashier is alerted that the customer has funds to spend and could qualify for a store card. I reminded her that both my buddy & I each only bought one item, both under $15, so that kicks that dolphin in the balls. She then threw more spaghetti against the wall to see what would stick, and said, um, well, our cashiers have the discretion to offer a card to whomever they want. Ok, stay neutral Carolyn, no problem.Nowhere near satisfied, I called for a different manager the next day. I got Marcus. He said EVERY cashier is instructed to offer a store card to EVERY customer, and that he would remind ALL staff to do so. That wasn't a good enough answer for me. All staff don't need to be reminded. The short African/Caribbean one needs to be reminded to not judge and discriminate based on a 2 second glance. All chubby folks aren't lazy, jobless slobs with bad credit. Fat doesn't equal non mobile!! I won't be shopping there again. 810 FICO is well above average credit, thank you very much. And hey, I'm not "fat", my fluffiness just...
Read moreToday the cashier was VERY Rude, I purchased 3 Men shirts that were on sale for 16.00 regular price 18.00 , 3 women shirts that were clearance priced at 8.49 x2 , 1 of the 3 was 7.49. One of the men shirts ring up @ 18.00 I told the cashier that the shirt was 16.00 like these two here, same company only difference was the color. I showed her the tag of both shirts. I said someone just missed to scan the shirt. She turned on her light seeking a manager? Then she said that since it ring up @ 18.00 I have to pay that price, I told her here are the same shirts look clearly the price is 16.00 . She told me well I can only ring up One shirt, for that price you cant have multiple shirts for 16.00, if it ring up 18.00 that's what you have to pay. I told her No that's not going to happen, she turned off her light telling the manager she don't need help after all. Then she continue to engage asking me questions over and over about how many shirts do I have total. The shirts were on the belt clearly, at this point I said to her, I am NOT going to keep going back and fourth with you. I did not say another word to her. The cashier changed to the right amount and I was on my way. Not another word was spoken. The experience was draining very provoking, and unnecessary Clearly because she had the same Items in front of her company sku# as well with 16.00 amount ring up on the 2 shirts. Then to talk with a tone of Levity being very disrespectful, when clearly...
Read moreWhat is going on?! I have lived in Hunter's Ridge for over 10 years. Target has changed. Changed in a very bad way. Usually there are only 2 registers open, maybe 3 if it's busier. Lines are wrapped around the aisles almost constantly now. Wait times have become so long I see people get fed up, leave their merchandise, and leave the store frustrated. It is now a normal occurance to enter the store and have no carts available. They're all gone with people waiting for someone to leave a cart they can use in the store. It does not appear that there is anybody regularly wrangling carts from the parking lot. The shelves are also a mess, understocked and very disorganized. It's much. harder to find things. Prices on items are difficult to find, and none of the scanners around the store to check prices work any longer. Target management needs to wake up! Fully staff your stores. Stop running skeleton crews and stretching your employees too thin. Pay your employees a livable wage. Target you had a 3.8% increase in profits from last year an increase of over 40% from 2022. The statement, "Expect More. Pay less," is posted throughout the store. If I were to actually expect more, I'd only be setting myself up for disappointment. I have come to expect less and pay more. You are making money! Stop giving me less (less product, less service, less value)...
