Went to the waffle house in Fort Payne, AL and ordered a pecan waffle and two eggs without yolk. The order arrived quite quickly and the server added grits and toast with the meal as a mistake. When I looked at the bill the charge was above what I was expecting so I inquired to the waitress why the extra cost. She explained to me that it was the cheapest way that she could bill it because the cost of a pecan waffle is 3.50 and eggs are 2.25 plus an extra charge for removing the yolk. This came to a total of 6.25 so she rang it up for a meal for a total charge of 6.00. I asked where on the menu is said eggs were 2.25 plus .50 for yolk removal and she said it wasn't on the menu and she then brought out a menu they use to add the total bills up. At that time she told me that it came with a drink also but when I inquired on why the price wasn't on the menu, I was told that there is probably too many things on the menu so there isn't enough room for individual items to be listed then she told me that nobody lists individual items on their menus and what did I want her to do about it. Well she might not be able to do to much but shame on you waffle house for one not listing ALL your prices on your menu and second shame for charging .50 for removing an egg yolk. Your food isn't that good to begin with to charge that much for sub par food. Won't...

They gave me a plate of hash browns with American cheese slices on it.
Come on waffle house. This is literally one of your signature dishes. You can do better.
My poor wife had to walk back across the street in traffic and go back in and risk covid infection.
We ordered it to go because my wife is a research scientist that is not allowed to be around groups of people or she gets quarantined at work and can't do her job.
Now our road trip is an hour behind schedule and I am sitting here still hungry.
My reviews are fair. I just call it like I see it. Waffle house should be able to do...

Meanwhile my waitress has an in depth conversation with their pal from another restaurant about how another acquaintance got food poisoning from this place. Well hell 30 minutes later after the cook finish cooking a few last minute items for the people already eating, the other waitress decides to wash the dishes instead of help the cook . I would understand if it was busy but there was literally 3 people eating. By the way once they splashed the sink water into my drink I was done. I paid for my mixed drink and left. Alls well that ends well, I guess? If 0 stars were a thing. I would hang it on their heads like a Garfield air...
