What an absolutely disappointing experience I just had here. I called to see if they had a specific shoe in my childās size, employee checks and says yes we do. I said can you please hold it I am down the street and will be there in five minutes. She says yes itāll be in the lockers at the front. Perfect because I had gone to snag a coffee and wasnāt really dressed up for the day. I thought great, just run in and pay and leave. I get there about 5 minutes later, go to the registers and say Iām here for the _ shoes I just called and the employee said theyād be waiting at a locker up front. After many puzzled looks someone goes to the back to see if they have them. Stood there waiting for quite some time to be told they do not. I was disappointed because I had just been told otherwise, but I said could you check the next size up please. I couldnāt get anyone to check that size it was a lot of back and forth between employees and no one really stepped up to check, so I said itās alright Iāll go look myself. I walk to the back and mind you this place is confusing, thereās a massive basketball court, and Iād never been in here. I went to the wrong side and someone pointed me to the opposite side for kids shoes. I get over there, an employee asks if I need help, I said yes please Iām confused and need to see if you have these shoes in kids size. He points me to womenās, I get over there and say this is the wrong section. So heās like āoh my badā and another employee comes up I ask her to please see if they have this shoe in this size. She looks at me and says, āI donāt think we do.ā And doesnāt even check! I was like well could you check and if not check a size up. Sheās like I donāt think we have any in that shoe. I was like ohā¦. Ok. At this point I feel so frustrated and honestly Iāve never been treated so badly in any store I have ever been to in my life. They denied the fact they do payment plans after I showed them they do and charged me full price anyway after agreeing to help me at first (slimy as f). Then, the āstore managerā came up being mad rude with ZERO etiquette until I showed him how to speak to another man by keeping my tone down (as the customer mind you). He then allows his employees to yell at me with him as I tried to calmly explain my issue. He kept talking over me condescendingly saying, āIāll hire youā bc I needed to use a payment plan to afford my purchase. I wish I knew their names but not ONE had a name tag on. Just ridiculous, unprofessional and appalling. They all need to be looked at man. They donāt know what theyāre doing in there. And guess what, I tried calling the store one time just to let them know I filed a complaint and these lazy dudes donāt even have the phone on the line. Treat your customers like customers, āstore managersā should never allow this behavior. I went in looking for a very specific pair of basketball shoes for my grandson, and he not only knew exactly what I needed but also went above and beyond my grandson is a power forward and he gave excellent recommendations to me based on the play style. An Old timer like me didnāt really understand it but he made he sure to patiently explain it to me and make sure I got the right fit. Always said yes maāam no maāam to me, very respectful!!!(which is rare from kids nowadays)
His name was Nolyn he was a taller kid with glasses and short black hair. What really stood out was his professionalism and kindnessāhe made the whole shopping experience enjoyable, even though I usually feel a bit overwhelmed with anything trendy nowadays. Nolyn genuinely cares about the customers and their needs, and he left me feeling confident that I made the right purchase. And my grandson Isaiah ENJOYS THEM! Employees like him are rare, and I hope Footlocker recognizes how valuable he is. Iāll definitely be asking for him next...
