Overall, this is a decent place to take my older child to play. However, I do wish that staff monitored the jungle gym better. Today, my 3 yr old was trampled by about 7 children in the tunnel right above the check in/prize counter. One right after the other. He would try to get up and the next one would trample right on top of him. I saw the entire scenario go down and had to yell “WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!” Thankfully one of the older children in the jungle gym nearby heard me and pulled him to safety. She had to physically pull him out from under the other kids. He was crying and screaming. He could have been very seriously injured. The young lady working behind the counter saw the entire thing as well, and said not one word. During our time there today, an employee came over the speaker system to tell kids not to climb up the slide on multiple occasions, and made reminders about wearing socks. If they can see that a child doesn’t have socks on and that children are climbing up the slide, they also have the ability to monitor rough play. I understand that sometimes situations like this just aren’t preventable, and kids will be kids. I’m not sure if it’s possible, but it would not be a bad idea for staff to be positioned throughout the jungle gym for an extra set of eyes to prevent issues like today. I know that waivers are required for each kid, but if the wrong family with the right connections and resources has a child that gets trampled, Kid Mania may find themselves liable after all. My nephew was injured at this location a few years back for the same reason.
If you have small children, I would recommend Cheeky Monkeys or Adventure Kids Playcare. There is a section for children 3 and under at this location, but there are always children in that section that are absolutely over the age of 3, and they’re never made to leave the section. If I had not seen the situation go down today and yelled, my child could have been really hurt. If you absolutely must go here and you have a child under the age of about 5, I would recommend you enter the jungle gym with them, or make sure they’re accompanied by an older sibling or friend. The jungle gym is simply too big and as a parent, you cannot get to them fast enough in...
Read moreA nice indoor playground for kids. In Texas an indoor play option is super nice. My husband and I took a day off work and had a family morning at Kid Mania. We went in mid May before the public schools let out and after my husband’s semester ended.
The indoor playground is made of seatbelt material so it is really sturdy. The seatbelt nets were not frayed or damaged. They were a bit dark from grime collected over time. It did appear that they were cleaned. Some of the things to do in the indoor climbing area: -rope swing -slides -bouncy seat -hammocks -bridges to cross -pullers to crawl through
There is a 3 and under climbing area for smaller explorers and a 4 to 104 climbing area that is much larger to go through. It goes up pretty high and was very accessible for adults. My husband and I are 35+ and both of us are about 5ft 10in. We were able to climb through the whole area with no problem. And we were not the only parents climbing around with their kids.
We were probably the only parents wearing our masks properly though a couple of other people had them. It was hot wearing the mask in the climbing area.
There are arcade games and little rides. They have a very gentle bull ride, a merry go round with teacups to sit in, a car, plane and dolphin and a racing game that is for toddlers- ie, very easy and slow. They also had a coupe of grabber games. One with rubber ducks that didn’t appear to work and a candy grabber which attracted the attention my my three year old. Lol.
There is also an upstairs arcade and a little snack cafe. There is an elevator in the back so people in wheelchairs can access the upstairs. The restrooms were clean. Hand sanitizer is also available.
I gave it 4 stars because we only stayed for about an hour and a half. The admission allows you to stay all day but my 3 year old was pretty done. I could see that other families who have really active kids could stay longer.
Safety- upon entering parent and child are given identical stamps and staff check to make sure the right kids and parents leave together. Good job for...
Read moreInitially, this place was pretty awesome! The first time we went it was early in the morning and not very packed so my 2 young children really enjoyed it. However, our second visit was pretty awful and we will not be returning. We went on New Years day and the place was overly packed. I think it would make for a better experience of everyone involved if there was a limit of people allowed in at one time. There was literally people everywhere. My kids are 2 and 3 so I climb through the huge jungle gym with them. That day there was a place in the netting that had come undone and a small child could have fallen and been seriously hurt. I got down immediately and informed the staff of the problem. The lady sent someone up within 10 minutes to fix it. I thought once the guy was up there he would go ahead and check for other discrepancies but he came down immediately after. Parents should be aware of this and crawl through this thing with your kids because this place is dangerous. I was so upset by this that I asked the kid that went up to fix the issue how often these things are checked and he said NEVER! There were way too many people there and it smelt like old socks. The staff were noticeably stressed out by the workload and we waited a very long time to get the 35 dollars worth of food we ordered. People were getting angry left and right and asking for refunds, it was a mad house to say the least. I don't think the staff are bad people and they were doing their best but the owner should be ashamed. If you take your kids here be very careful and watch them closely. There were so many kids in that thing being trampled over and kids crying looking for their parents. The floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in days. Again, this place is dangerous the way it is being run, please be careful when taking your...
