This place is Da Bomb for anything Japanese. Especially if you love cats. I spent about $175 in there today, and considering that most of the prices are less than $5, that's a lot of stuff! Stuff you never think you need until you see it, and it's all imminently practical. Pretty Japanese dishware and cooking utensils, Japanese food, gardening equipment, general household equipment, but with whimsical animal decorations, usually cats/pandas/dogs/rabbits. There's beauty supplies, office supplies, fun pillows, and I even came home with a pink fishing rod that separates into pieces for carrying (in its own case), and comes with full line and hooks. Full sized, yet very girly! It's real, not a toy. Too many things to describe, and you'll find that you need them all! Prices very low; quality very high. Good supply of nice shopping bags, too-I even got a Harley-Davidson themed shopping bag, which I haven't even seen at a Harley dealer's before! Art supplies, shoes (but no clothes), and many "doodads" that seem to be alien to Americans, but common in Japan. I HIGHLY recommend a shopping...
Read moreAn exceptionally unique experience. The displays are so cleanly maintained they can be described as sanitary. The products make this store very much worth the occasional visit just to see what's new and as mentioned above, much of what is "older" warrants repeat visits because it is so unlike anywhere else. Many, many items you may have never even thought of such as a battery operated eraser for pencil marks. There's also an experience to be had realizing there are things you had no idea you wanted or could put to good use. The only negative comment can also be viewed as possitive by others: the policy is to rotate merchandise often which means if you want to go back to buy more of something it may not be there anymore. However, this certainly expands the product line, so I admit some personal bias. Regardless, it would be a mistake not to stop in just for the entertainment of novelty if...
Read moreSo I first visited Daiso in Japan. Great place. Basically it is a dollar store or five below type place . Now the items have a range of prices but they are on the less expensive end of things while maintaining quality. If you like Sanrio and Hello Kitty - they have a huge display. Like to try new food or Japanese snacks? They have it! Want space saving storage ideas for your home? They have tons of ideas and options to get you organized.
On of my favorite buys is a tech item - a little black ball that splits in half that you can use to elevate your laptop so their is airflow underneath it. My laptop gets hot and at home I use a computer fan but out and about I use this little 1/2 ball to make sure there is airflow.
If you love Japanese pens, paper and stationary, they have several isles of office supplies. A fun place to shop...
