My wife and I, along with our three kids (ages 4, 6, and 9) took two trips down the Alpine slide this week. The experience was fantastic. Our 4 & 6 year olds had to ride with mom and day. Our 9 year old was able to ride alone. The 4 & 6 year olds wanted to go slow at first but both asked to speed up about half way down. All three kids absolutely loved it and convinced us to take another trip down. The chairlift was also part of the fun for the kids.
I highly recommend the Alpine slide for families!
In comparison, we were unable to ride the Alpine Coaster at the ski resort (a completely different attraction, don't get them confused like I did when planning our visit). Our 9 year old wasn't tall enough to ride alone and there was no way for two adults to ride with three kids. We were told that our 9 year old would need to wait at the bottom of the lift alone while we took our other kids (no way!).
Give it a try. The price was reasonable and...
Read moreThis should have been an amazing experience but the sleds need some maintenance. There were 3 of us and luckily we bought the day pass because our first ride, 2 of us had defective sleds and actually slowed down, almost stopping, in spite of being full throttle. Had we only purchased the one ride, that would have been a problem. 2 of us decided to ride again and one of us had a fully functioning sled which was fun - as it should be. The other had a defective sled. For the third and final ride, one of us had a defective sled and the other was just mediocre. So not a great experience. We did report this to an employee and they basically shrugged it off and said if it happened again, let off the control and shimmy the sled - which I tried with no success. If the owners read this, inspect your sleds and fix the defective ones! I think most people just purchase one ride (based on our observation) and what a crappy experience to get a...
Read moreVery fun experience! First of all, I am grateful for the staff who were incredibly patient with my kid with ASD. They were encouraging and kind to him and slowed the chair lift down for him. The experience- nice, slow and pretty ride up on the chair lift. The slide speed down is completely controlled by the rider. My son was able to take it nice and slow on his own and LOVED that he was in control. I don't think he would have ridden it otherwise. My point in giving all of this info is to let readers know this is good for different abilities.
Caution to rider- you do have to lean forward to push handle down and it is a bumpy ride (if you have a bad back). The heavier you are, the slower it goes. The kids go fast.
Give it a go! I appreciate that they discount...
