We are Steamboat locals and come here at least once a week to support local business. Last night my husband and I stopped by to pick up a few board games. At 6:53 we walked up to the register and the worker, with obvious disgust, threw the change he was counting back into his register and said “You guys are cutting it close. I was just about to close.” As he rung up our $85 worth of purchases (only 3 items which took him less than 15 seconds to ring up) he skipped our rewards phone number which we use to get points. When we promptly and politely asked to enter it he let out a deep sigh and allowed us to do so. I felt the need to apologize (for no reason whatsoever, feeling I had inconvenienced him) his odd response was “Gotcha.”
It’s a bummer we had this experience. I’m not sure if we caught him on a bad day, but I am well aware I could have gone to a big box retailer and gotten the same games for two thirds the cost. Instead we chose to support what we thought was a great local business. Unfortunately we will be avoiding them...
Read moreReally cool little shop. They had toys, candy and some arcades for the kids to play. There had a nice selection of your favorite candies. A lot of name brand toys, I see some costumes in there as well. I do have some cold vending machine drinks available and some candy vending machines. lots of toys of all types. In the back of shop they have a mini arcade. Two basketball games, two ski ball games , 4 pinball machines , a super Mario two seater racing game. really neat shop really Nicely decorated as well with a really cool centerpiece. There was a large tree with lights and stuffed animals inside it. Another cool toy was sleeping puppies in cages (just toys, not real) that were animated; they each looked like they were breathing, their sides were much vmore by up and down. They looked soo real. The cashier was very pleasant and talked with everyone that came by her. She was also encouraging the kids as they played along on the arcade. There is a really cool kinetics merry-go-round, about 5 feet tall at the very...
Read moreMy husband and I travelled to Steamboat in the off season for a last minute trip, never having visited before and not sure of what to do during our stay. We had a wonderful time doing many different activities, but one of our highlights was spotting the pinball machines at the back of Steamboat Fun & Games (an exciting find for two millennials)! We visited three times during our stay and had a blast playing pinball. The staff was incredibly friendly and it was a joy to browse the impressive collection of high-quality puzzles and games, too. Terrific local business that caters to those...
