While on a family vacation I took my 2 daughters to get mani/pedi's as a treat. We had reg polish put on our feet and shellac on our hands (one daughter also getting French tips), the whole experience setting me back over $200. It's vacation so it was a splurge for us and I would have been ok with it but as I was walking out I noticed my hands and feet did not have the same reds, which bothered me, I wanted them to match. I didn't have time to stick around and have them fix it so I scheduled to go back the next morning to have them fix my toe color. By the next morning one of my daughters toes had chipped already so she came along to have it touched up and they did no problem. The lady took off my polish and tried to make a match using 2 different colors. It wasn't perfect but closer. The problem is my toes now look like a 3rd grader painted them, for some reason she had polish all over my big toe and had to try to clean it up. My teenage son laughed, saying he could have done a better job and he's right. While the people there are very nice, the salon is ugly and dirty and I regret having gone there at all. I have a sore on my hand where she cut my skin instead of cuticle and my toes look hideous. I rarely treat myself or my girls like this so is such a disappointment to feel like you didn't get what you paid for. There's another salon across the street, JT's, if there is a next time, I'll go...
Read moreEDIT in response to the Millenia Hair & Nails Spa Owners Feedback: If anything, I arrive for my appointments early. Unsure if the Statement claiming the opposite, comes from Hannah or her husband who usually starts to work on clients nails until Hannah is free to finish even though he holds no license. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify the Millenia Hair & Nails Spa Owners statement about my "tardiness"....
I want to take a moment and thank Millenia Day Spa (next to Publix on 14908 East Orange Lake) for NOT honoring any of the appointments I have made with them. Aside from the fact that Millenia Day Spa is tiny and not necessarily the cleanest, Millenia Day Spa has a very limited selection of nail polish. I actually bought my own because they don't even carry my standard OPI color, and brought my own nail files as well because what they use at Millenia Day Spa is way past its lifetime. Anyway, due to their complete disregard for my time (more than an hour wait both times despite appointments) I have now found a Five Star Salon at Champions Gate which is spacious, clean, carries a wide nail polish selection, keeps appointments and the employees don't find it necessary to bother clients with noisy questions such as where do you work" etc. So thanks to Millenia Day Spa, I finally found a great salon who still does old fashioned acrylics and respects their...
Read moreI hate to be the one random person with a bad review— I went to the salon because it had such a high rating! Came in with my Mom for a standard French manicure and pedicure. An older woman helped me and a gentleman helped my mom. The woman started off by asking if my mom was my mother or grandma— weird, but ok. We all fumble in conversation. She then proceeded to ask me and my mother why we aren’t getting gel. We simply don’t like it. That apparently wasn’t a good enough answer, as she brought it up twice more during our pedicure. Then, when I sat in her manicure chair, she told my mom (being helped by somebody else) and me about gel again, THEN told us to try dip powder. She proceeded to give one of the worst French manicures I had ever gotten. Lumpy polish, chips in the line. She did random second coats that led to different shades?? I wanted to trust the process and wait until it was done. It was awful. It was strange, as my pedicure was done so well. To sit there and be constantly up-sold while being underwhelmed was wildly uncomfortable. I know French can be a challenge— I wish I had a picture, but I had them remove it so fast after looking at the finished, dried results. The gentleman did an excellent job on my mother’s nails and fixed mine. I would go back and see him,...
