I enjoyed browsing in this bookstore on two recent visits to Frankfort (April and June 2018). It has both new and used books in a two-story bookstore.
Though my limited space in my apartment and my limited budget enabled me to resist the temptation to buy anything, there was a nice variety to choose from.
The first floor seemed to emphasize new books, while the second floor appeared to be all used books.
A doorway inside the bookstore leads into a bar/restaurant next door. That business contains some bookshelves that appear to contain additional books from the bookstore for sale. And on the other side of the bar/restaurant is a business offering a variety of souvenirs, knicknacks, etc, for sale.
I confess that my rating may be biased since I love bookstores and there are fewer to visit nowadays. But, I urge persons in Frankfort to seek to stop in at Poor Richard's Books and browse through their selection of new and used books.

Read moreThe bookstore out of your cozy small town dreams. Loved the layout. Loved the selection. We came in for a Christmas book for our infant daughter as we happened to be in town for the Christmas Lighting Ceremony â but I loved the curated selection of works by Larkspur Press, a localish old fashioned letterpress publisher. The shopkeepers saw my interest and filled me in on the books and the press. They say a bookstore is only as good as its staff and the two working this night were the ideal â friendly, welcoming, interested and interesting. It was a small joy to spend the time here. The coffee shop next door is also wonderful. I hope weâll pass back through some day and be able to return. Thank you for the kindness. It wonât...
Read moreWe love about an hour away from Frankfort take a day trip there every couple of months. My 5 year old always wants Poor Richards to be the first stop. It's a great little book store with new and used books. Prices and fair and when I though they were a bit high they have always entertained a little haggling, especially if you buy more than one. They are knowledgeable and friendly. They are very patient with my daughter, you can be very excited at times. The owner, I believe, always tells her she can climb the ladder up to how ever many years old she is. Our last trip she was very very excited, and she had just turned five, and got to climb an extra run. I recommend the...
