I rarely go shopping for shoes, but after buying a couple of pairs of jeans in Macy's at Spotsy Mall I decided to check out the shoes. No sales people were in sight. Not even close. I guess I am not very patient so i left. As i walked through the mall I thought my behavior was ridiculous, so I decided to give another store a chance. I walked into the Belk store and there they were - the shoes sitting right there on the right hand side. Within in few minutes Ispotted two pairs that I wanted -- and I really like them ! And the price was great!! But, again I didn't spot a sales person. This time I went across the store and found a very nice lady, who seemed to be having a friendly talk with a non-customer. Well, let's put it this way - the person she was talking with wasn't carrying any bags and he quickly left when I approached. "Be glad to help you", she said and we walked happily towards the shoe section, but before i began talking to her and young man came up and asked about a job he had applied for. Well, certainly, I told want to stand in the way of a person getting a job. So , I waited while she spoke to the young man. Suddenly another lady, and she seemed to be an in-charge type came up to me and asked if I needed help -- I SAID YES. I quickly told her about one of the pairs of shoes i wanted and I gave her my size. She quickly left and then reappeared with two boxes of shoes and throw them on a chair and told me to see if one of them worked. I sat down and began trying the shoes on and realized that neither pair fitted. I was about to ask for help when I realized she had left the area COMPLETELY, and the other lady had, as well. So, there I was with shoes that didn't fit and no one to talk to. I walked out and placed an online order for two pairs of shoes that night -- and with a different store. Maybe there is a reason that online shopping...
Read moreDear Belk Customer Service Team,
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent shopping experience at Belk. As a military-affiliated customer, I was surprised and disheartened to have my request for the advertised military discount refused at checkout.
I have always appreciated businesses that recognize and honor the sacrifices of our service members and their families, and I have come to expect Belk to be among them. This refusal not only diminished my shopping experience but also left me questioning Belk’s commitment to supporting the military community.
Could you please clarify Belk’s official policy on military discounts and explain why it was not honored in this instance? Additionally, I would appreciate guidance on how this matter can be rectified so that I, and others in the military community, can continue to feel valued as loyal customers.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt...
Read moreMy belly has grown faster than the ability of my clothing to come back into fashion and my wife’s little brother is getting married, so I needed a new suit. Tried and failed with 2 online transactions, couldn’t find any support at another store at the mall and stopped by Belk on the way out. Meet a lovely associate named Rita who had a good bit of experience with the shop, so she left her checkout post and helped me. She was GREAT! Very kind, knowledgeable, and able to find a suit that was the correct color / style and fit well enough to buy. Unfortunately, there weren’t many options for me to choose from and I’m going to need to go to a professional tailer to get it cut down to fit (I have a hard time with suites off the rack) but the personal attention rendered by Ms. Rita made my experience good. I’m planning to go back. In short, Belk still does men’s suits in the...
