I originally came into the store with my daughter who was having her rings checked for loose stones and then cleaned. She has had two rings designed for her by Mike and they are both gorgeous. As a courtesy, they checked my 120+ year old diamond band and found that all the prongs had been worn down and the hand cut diamonds were all loose. The platinum had also "thinned" and I was in danger of loosing some of the stones. This ring was made by my great grandfather who was a jeweler in the "old country". He designed the ring for my great grandmother as her wedding ring, so you can imagine that it is very important to me. It is also a very important part of my family history. Well, I was leary of giving it to anyone to have it brought back to its original beauty, especially since I do not live in VA and had only come for a visit. My daughter convinced me to leave it with Mike and after listening to him describe what was wrong with it and how it would look just like the original ring, I decided to put my trust in him and his extraordinary talents. I am so glad I did. It is absolutely gorgeous and I can just imagine my great grandmother having that ring put on her finger all those years ago. My grandmother also wore the ring and it was then handed down to my Mom and it will go to my girls. I can never thank Mike and Edona enough. I did cry when I saw it and will continue to be a loyal and grateful customer. I am already planning my next visit to VA from KY and will be coming to the shop to give everyone a big hug and a huge thank you. It was worth every penny which by the way, is exceptionally reasonable for all the work they put into the restoration of a big part of my family's history. Honesty, fairness, talent, knowledge, and great customer service are what you will receive when you work with this family owned business. They...

Came here to replace a prong and the main stone in my wedding ring. They quoted $350 for everything. When I went to pick it up I pointed out to the woman there that the prong looked massive and like it was spilling over one of the smaller stones that circle the main stone. She said it looked fine and that was just how it was supposed to look. I took it home and thought I’d get used to it. I decided to take it back and have them fix that because I was not happy with it and every time I looked at my ring all I could see was a mess of metal. When I took it back they only fixed it halfway. I told them I was still not happy with it. It should look like the other side of my ring. They asked how old my ring is (5years old) and said that it being that old that all of the prongs are thinned so if they were to make the prong like the others then it would break again. ”Do you want it to break again”? The owner said “if I knew you were going to be like that I would have charged you $1500 to do the whole thing”. His associate came over and tried to argue with me about it too. I felt like I was being ganged up on. Their tones were accusatory and they just dismissed me in the end without offering any kind of resolution. No refund of any kind.
Either set expectations with your customers or don’t do sloppy work.
And it’s not the prong that’s the issue anymore. After they “fixed it” the second time it was just the excess metal that had spilled between the rows of smaller stones. But he still wouldn’t fix it.
Side note: What they didn’t ask was how often I wear it. I wore it for 2 years before I hit my hand really hard on furniture and that snapped the prong. I haven’t worn it in 3 years. The other prongs...
Read moreI went into Diamond Concepts "just looking" for the perfect engagement ring. I had what many would think were unrealistic expectations. I didn't care the size of the ring... that wasn't important, I didn't want something that was not out the "case". I didn't want something that everyone had. I did like the halo design and wanted to stay in the style. Before going into Diamond Concepts I only thought I could achieve that with expensive designers such as Tacori. Amal took great care in educating that they create their own one of a kind pieces. She pulled three and within that three was THE ONE! I have never seen a design like this one, nor have I seen one since. To my surprise, it was a FRACTION of the cost and just as beautiful. We bought the piece which included a wedding band. After getting home and thinking about if for a few weeks, I realized it needed a second wedding band. I went back in and within a few weeks they had created an exact copy in order to have a wedding band on each side of my engagement ring. I had all three soldered together the week before I got married and it turned out BEAUTIFUL! Great customer service. I will ONLY purchase from DC from now on, no more...
