Such a terrible experience that I would give it no stars if I could.
The products are fine no complaints there. However when I went to check out they hit me with a magazine subscription making it sound like it's free, however when you start to read the details they will eventually charge you automatically. This was in mid December when people are hurrying to get their Christmas shopping done. I suspect they were trying to take advantage of people being in a rush.
They also surprise you with a FYE credit card which they sneakily imply is just a rewards card like when you give them your phone number. Luckily I was able to back out of both of these.
My girlfriend however did not back out of the magazine subscription. She tried to cancel it through the magazine company later. The magazine company said they'd take care of everything, that they'd talk to FYE and her subscription would be canceled.
However, she did eventually have a pending charge for the magazine subscription. She called FYE to get let them know she wanted to cancel the subscription. The FYE representative went over all the benefits of the subscription and said something like "having said all that, we're just going to have you keep it."
My girlfriend is sure the representative was ready to hang up the phone. However she cut him off before he could say goodbye. She told him that he's going to cancel it. He finally agreed. She asked for a confirmation email that it was canceled and he said that FYE doesn't do that. He said he could give her a confirmation number which he proceeded to read off far too quickly to write down. She had to ask him to repeat it slowly which he finally did.
I'll never go to FYE again. Because of these slimy,...

Shopped here on 12.7.2024, rep asked me if I wanted 10% off for providing my email, I said Yes. Rep. then started to ask other personal questions which sounded like I was applying for a credit card.
When I asked why she needed personal information she stated that she signed me up for the FYE VIP club, which I promptly refused, since I was only in the store to purchase a few things.
The rep. then said that it was too late and that I would have to call the VIP membership number to cancel since she had already processed the membership. I told the rep. that it was the holiday season, and I really didn't want that task, so I returned everything that I purchased, demanded a refund receipt, and re-purchased the items with a new receipt, without the FYE VIP membership, which they provided.
Now, I'm reviewing my bank account and I have a pending charge for $11.99 for a membership that they cancelled within two minutes after signing me up, for something that I never requested.
As a result, I had to call the FYE membership number and the store back to express my grievance once again. This is a total scam by this store and the managers there should be totally held accountable for this practice.
Congratulations on your 1 STAR review as a result. I wasn't going to leave any review, but after looking at the first review that popped up, this apparently is a common practice at this store that needs to be documented.
Will NOT be shopping at any FYE...
Read moreCan someone please explain to me the purpose of shopping here? They sell STAR WARS FIGURES - now get this: the SAME FIGURES can easily be bought at walmart, target, and EVEN EASIER, AMAZON! So FYE sells these figures for (drum roll please) TWICE THE AMOUNT available anywhere else! I looked through the figures they have and I scoffed at the absurd pricing! dude - you know the "star wars RETRO" line overflowing and overstocked EVERYWHERE that sells for 10 dollars per figure? Well, FYE sells that line for 20 dollars per figure, HAHAH!
The only thing I can speculate is: the predatory pricing model is to target non-informed casual people that happen to walk into the store while walking around in the mall, hoping that they see "star wars figures" and think "Hey, doesn't my nephew like star wars? Let's get him a star wars figure here!" - and not making an informed purchase, these people get ravaged and ripped off for something that is easily available and overflowing on any store shelf elsewhere! HA, even walk a few steps over to GameStop and they have the same star wars figures for their...
