I have shopped at Zara many times before. I recently made an online purchase with a Visa Vanilla gift card. When the items did not fit I intended to return the items in store for a store credit/merchandise card. When I tried to do the return I was rudely told that I can’t be issued a store credit because the purchase was online… never heard of such a thing from a retail establishment because it shouldn’t matter whether the item is purchased online or not. I mentioned multiple times that it can’t be returned back to the card because visa gift cards are non reloadable. Now I was burdened with the inconvenience of sending it back so I figured I’d look around and exchange it for another item. I found a trench coat for almost double the value and went to the counter to do the exchange. Again I was denied… so I left the store with my items. As I’m walking out of the store I receive an email saying “your return is being processed.” The cashier returned my items and sent me on my way without telling me. So I went back into the store to speak to the manager. After the cashier made a mistake and “accidentally refunded” my purchase, I was now told I have to call customer service and state the cashier made a mistake to get my merchandise credit. So one I already have to deal with customer service to send my items back, and now two I have another issue on my hands telling them to cancel the false return. I work in luxury retail and I’ve never heard of such an idiotic policy. The managers and workers did not acknowledge their mistake and just sent me on my way to figure it out. A simple accommodation would have worked just fine with me but they were very unwilling to help. I am never shopping at this Zara location again. Management needs a serious overhaul on how to handle discrepancies and sympathize with the customer. I was offered not one apology and the managers/workers huffed and puffed while I was trying to explain the situation. It is such a shame. Zara makes nice clothes but this brick and mortar store puts a sour taste in my mouth and is a misrepresentation of the brand. Corporate needs to reevaluate the operations and management in this location to uphold...
Read moreUsually have an amazing time shopping at Zara. Today was definitely a 1 out of 10. They must have new people working up to management. The pricing that was displayed on the clothing when I picked it up from the rack had €27 on it. If you translate that to Dollars it might be a $5 difference max. When I brought all my clothing to the counter for purchase I was told “sorry that’s not the price, this should have been removed. You know, HUMAN ERROR.” It came out total to about $20 more per item than what it was displayed at. So, I asked to speak to a manager, normally whatever is displayed is what’s honored HUMAN ERROR or not, you put the garment on the rack that way. The manager came and told me the same thing. The way they spoke to me was though was highly unprofessional. Both of these guys were very young, clearly could care less about customer satisfaction and just wanted me to leave. The attitude and disrespect was very much being portrayed. The manager left and I didn’t get his name before he stormed off. So I asked his coworker/employee for his name. He said “Can’t tell you his name, it’s a private company…” Yeah okay… After that there were three employees talking under their breathe saying remarks which I overheard, whoever these two are definitely need training or to be replaced im sure there’s plenty of other applicants that can be more suitable for this position. Date & Time of Issue: October...
Read moreI want to post my review here to bring the awareness of discrimination that took place against my autistic child by the female blond manager, who refused to disclose her name to me. My child requires special accommodation and medication to leave the house and attend public place. Today was the first opportunity I had to take my child shopping for school clothes. We arrived to the store 20 minutes before the closing time but were denied the fitting room. The woman told us they are closing soon and not permitting customers to try clothes anymore. If we desire, we could try clothes right in front of everyone or but it without trying on. I want people to understand that my daughter suffers from the severe form of autism and she can barely ever be removed from comfort zone, brought to public place without being endangered. Once her tantrum start, she can severely hurt herself. Unfamiliar environment is the main trigger for her relapses. I believe Zara could have done! better by making an exception for a special needs girl to be able to buy and wear their clothes. Tomorrow I will be reaching out to the corporate with an official written complain of discrimination as per title I of ADA 1990. I let go of many wrongdoings I observe, but I will not allow anyone to do wrongdoing...
