I’ve been coming here on and off for almost 2 years, and my final straw before leaving a review was pulled today, unfortunately. Downloaded the Fivestars app and got a “50% off your next visit” promo. Waited in line for about 10 minutes with 1 person in front of me, and finally got to the cashier. She says, “The Promotion doesn’t include Christmas items.” I tell her, “this isn’t “The Promotion,” it’s a coupon I got for downloading the app. She calls her manager, who says the same thing, and I try again to explain that this isn’t the stores current promotion, it is a coupon that says nothing at all apart from “50% off your next visit.” Cashier repeats herself, I left my items and left the store.
I wouldn’t bother to write a review, if I wasn’t mostly annoyed that I spent almost an hour in your dusty, dirty store. I SO wish the owner would sell this place to someone who knows how to run a successful thrift store. Do you guys EVER get rid of items that don’t sell? I swear you have things in there that have been there for like a year. There are purses on the wall that are so ratty and torn up and they remain, price unchanged, for literally months. It’s nasty. Your store is extremely hot during the summer. The clothes are like bottom-of-the-bins. Way overpriced furniture. Too many items that are broken or stained. It really gives an icky feeling when you leave. Definitely a last resort thrift store. I hate to say it, but I’d go to Goodwill across the street in a heartbeat over this store.
Don’t see the blonde German woman there anymore, she was (or is) the only good thing about your store - she was the only employee who TRIED to maintain customers and provided friendly customer service. The rest of you act like this is a Target. So ego-driven and stubborn. Just bad business.
Edit: to Kricket who posted before me, 100% accurate. I wanted to say the same thing about the tshirts - they are almost ALL all date-specific and from local organizations, including the polos! Nobody is paying $3.99 for a stained, smelly tshirt from the 2017 Frisco Chili Cook-off. Or even $9.99 with 50% off an Under Armor Sweater with some random person’s initials embroidered on it. Goodwill might price something at $9.99 but it won’t be either of those things 🤣 Insanity. Lastly, get me started on the wrought-iron graveyard in the back corner of the store....
Read moreI live just up the street from this store and up until today I have purchased here. Not anymore. This is (from what I have been told in the past) faith based store supporting local ministries. Unfortunately the way they do business is NOT. Two pieces I picked up yesterday had either no price at all or questionable pricing on it. Once at the register, …. (Let me stop and mention the cashier was the sweetest) I explained I’d found a pillow (no pricing on it) and a button down shirt brand name unknown that had a tag I thought read $6.99 but once at the register I looked closer and some chicken scratch read $16.99. (I also had a much nicer Perry Ellis button down for $7.99 which was correct pricing.) Cashier called Mgr for price check. A glass vase I never even thought twice about was marker $2.99 but the Mgr rudely glanced at me snickered and said “umm no, I would never mark that $2.99, that should be $12.99” I snickerd back and said well you can keep it then because Kroger is cheaper than that and the vases are thicker. She then proceeds to tell the cashier the unknown named shirt is $16.99 the rolls her eyes at me. I told the cashier I’d kindly pass on the shirt at well. The pillow was $2.50 and I’d take that. The cashier went to put the refused shirt and vase back behind her and the Mgr snatched the shirt from her hand, looked at me and said “so you ain’t buying this one?” I told her NO. I have a Perry Ellis right here that is clearly nicer, almost half the cost and of less wear than the $16.99 shirt” she huffed, threw it over her shoulder and stomped away. All this to say, IF this is a faith based resale store, you’re employees should reflect this. The mgr I had dealings with today was just shy of an ill-minded street walker selling fake Rolex watches outta their filthy jacket. Oh and using the word “ain’t” sets a whole new tone, “just sayin”. Reasonable pricing in a resale shop is important and keeps merchandise moving so that the store items can rotate. This store is OVER RUN with merchandise that could sell quickly if priced accordingly, however, that is not the case, and many items were returned to the shelf due to the overpricing. I will be driving a little further from here on but it will be worth it in...
Read moreI come to this location strictly for baskets for my boho decor in my home. Sometimes it’s hit or miss, other times great selection.
Today, I was milling around and I spotted a pair of designer pants. I’ve never purchased clothing from a thrift store. Not something I am accustomed to, but a good deal is a good deal and I was interested.
I had to flag down what I am assuming is a manager (based on how arrogant she was acting towards other employees). She could barely stand to make eye contact with me much less have to stop and answer a question. I asked what the return policy was on clothing. She said “there isn’t one”, then tried to walk away. I said “so if the dressing rooms are closed, and the pants I have here are too big, I’m just out of luck after my purchase?” She said “you can try them on in the bathroom, otherwise yes you’re out of luck”. Then just turns and walks away.
Yeah no, I’m good. I put the pants on the nearest rack and proceeded to the register to pay for a few baskets I found.
I witnessed her be rude and snotty to a lady standing at the counter, waiting to be checked out. No one was behind the counter. This manager lady witnesses the whole thing and does nothing. Then I shot her a look like “what are you doing about the situation to help check customers check out”. She snaps at the lady waiting in line and asked her “well did you ring the bell?” The lady answered her “yes, but no one was coming”. Manager lady rolls her eyes and starts yelling from across the entire store until someone from the back walks up.
So lemme get this straight. Dressing rooms are closed. But I can try clothes on in the bathroom.
Make it make sense.
This happened today, on my lunch break, around 12:30 pm. “Manager” description: petite, older lady, brownish\reddish wavy hair, hair parted down the middle with white bows to pin her hair back, possibly Italian or Greek ethnicity. You know exactly who I’m referring to. It’s not hard to figure out.
Owners: this is now my 2nd time having this same exact encounter with said “manager”. Please do better or explain to her without people coming in to shop and give you business, she’s without a...
