The last of the old school malls with Belks as an anchor store and Kobe restaurant flanking north. The mall still has 80% occupancy. I wish the kids (like we did in the 70s) would make this a hang out to assure it stays open. Full food court! Even a Chic FIL a despite a stand alone one less than a half mile away. Gadsden mall has the typical mall stores one would expect. Spencer's, Jewelry stores, huts in the middle, etc. Semi carnival atmosphere. What's missing and it is a huge shame (mainly due to CELL PHONES) is the record stores, electronics shop (radio shack) and hi fi stores. This mall could use a UP to date speaker system with good sound and good general music to pep up the atmosphere. Shameful plug, I design build and install such systems and they do attract customers and keep customers shopping. Malls used to have energy and noise. It's not a ghost town but ambience wise, it could use some energy. The "whatever" crowd is certainly dominating attitudes away from fun. I know I am remembering the old days but the good old days were good indeed. When I come to the mall and sadly that I say this.. I hasn't been invitng to drop several hundred bucks. In the old days, we would spend a considerable amount monthly in malls and the convenience of park once, shope for hours has been taken over by Wal mart. I really wish malls to come back with stores such as a Wal mart to be an anchor but wally world cannot tolerate competition so here we are. I hope you enjoyed my review. Yes I am an old goat longing for the cheer we...
Read moreMe and my husband are from Rome, Ga… we visited this mall for the first time a few days ago and we loved it. They had the little photo booths that you can get inside of and take pictures, which I haven’t seen any where in awhile. So we definitely had to take some pictures. It printed out the strip of our different pictures we took. But while walking around we lost them, I’m thinking probably in Hibbetts. Anyways I remember the photo booth saying something about you can get your pictures replaced if lost. Does anyone happen to know the name of the booths? I can maybe try to get our pictures replaced. We hardly take pictures together and thought it would be fun to take some and they turned out great. So I’m kinda sad about losing them :( so if anyone could please help me out. We loved the mall, it’s a lot better than our mall for sure… Our favorite store was Citi Trends. We didn’t get to go in a lot of stores because we got there late and it was our last day on our little baecation (vacation) lol. We will definitely be coming...
Read moreI do not live local, so this review is based on our one visit inside the mall. It is clean and there are still plenty shops, which is hard to find nowadays as malls are not in fashion. However, there is one restroom? What!? And it is located so far away from everything except the food court? I mean, I get it. Food court should have a restroom near it, but if your food court is in a far corner of the mall you should have a second one, centrally located. That's common sense straight from people that actually shop at this mall. I know because after we complained about it, I heard others complaining about it. Other than that, I guess this mall is okay. I give a lower rating because of the restroom issue and just the fact that it is a mall with all of the suckiness of a mall. Overpriced goods in small selections. Is the overpriced thing due to high rent? I bet it is. There's more than one reason people stopped going to malls. They aren't good for anyone above 12 years old and not safe for those...
