It's unfortunate that there is a lack of menswear options in Gainesville, which is why this place is still in business. If you have the opportunity to go anywhere else, you should. I promise that whatever inconvenience it may be will be less than the inconvenience buying a suit from this place will cause. I needed to purchase a suit for my wedding and was looking for something custom since I am fairly short and can't buy off the rack. This place has absolutely no business saying they sell custom suits. The salesperson took minimal measurements and shot me down every time I expressed concerns or voiced what I wanted. I should have stopped him and found somewhere else, but I couldn't be making multiple trips out of town to a more reputable menswear store or tailor. Sure enough, when the suit came in, it was a disaster. Not a single part of it fit. The "custom" suit they had made for me didn't fit on any part of my body. How is that possible? I had to work with their in-house tailor for a number of alterations, and that is where it went from bad to worse. He simply doesn't know what he is doing or isn't being paid enough to care. The jacket was still way too big and needed to be taken in. He argued with me about it, and instead of properly altering the jacket, he took it to the back and just moved the buttons. This completely ruined how the jacket laid and damaged the garment by making new holes to sew the buttons. He also argued with me about tapering the pants because the salesperson lied to me. They didn't bother measuring my inseam, so the pants were so long that the taper was removed when it was hemmed. Something I specifically asked about and was dismissed. They needed to be tapered again, and he had a real attitude about it. After this, I had to take it to a real tailor who told me I was better off buying a new suit from somewhere else since the alterations would cost the same. But I didn't have time to do that, so I had them do the best they could. The alterations cost me $400 on top of the $600 I paid for the suit. They did what they could, but I still didn't look as nice as I deserved to on my wedding day. I was prepared to pay $1000 or more for a custom suit, but I ended up paying $1000 for a low quality garment that looked like it came off the rack. It also failed on my wedding day. A seam in the pants split and one of the pockets ripped. An absolute disaster and Men's Wearhouse should be ashamed of themselves. I already reached out to them via the MW Listens or whatever it's called, and they just ignored it. It's been almost a month and they have not gotten back to me. They should at least reimburse me for the alterations I had to have done that they couldn't do themselves. But at this point they should refund me for the suit since it couldn't even last...
Read moreWorst experience with the worst sales reps. I work in retail myself and the only words I can use to describe myself and the rest of the wedding party’s experience is absolutely ridiculous. The bride and groom went in to pick out options for their wedding. They were quoted with one price of 185 and told that’s what the rest of the groomsmen would be paying. Upon going in to get measured for my boyfriends tux we were greeted with a very blank faced girl with zero emotion or any idea of how to do anything in the store. She made myself and my boyfriend very uncomfortable. She asked for all our info and didn’t speak the rest of the interaction. Towards the end she asked for his signature and he had asked what it was for and she said “your information” and he said but what for and we got no response from her. At the end she gave us our total of $230 (fine but not the price we were originally given) I mentioned that it didn’t sounds right to me and she said “well that’s the price” we opted to put down a deposit only since the price sounded odd and she clearly had no idea what she was doing. We ask for a receipt she says “I already hit email only I can’t give you a new one” afterward she tells us our pickup date is the day before the wedding (wedding is out of town we were told prior that we could pick up 2 days before) I mention that she says “then do that” my boyfriend asks “will the tux be here by then?” She says “I don’t know probably” another associate (I wish I’d have gotten her name she seemed to be the only polite one in the whole store) chimes in and assured us of the delivery days and that we could in fact pick up early. While there we also noticed the woman who seemed to be the manager exhibit some pretty wild and rude behavior to not only us but every other customer in the store. After our visit I spoke with the bride and she calls to the store. She spoke on the phone with a less than polite man who told her the difference is because nobody signed up for the perfect fit? And that if you do you get a $45 coupon. She explains nobody’s told them or anybody else about it even after questioning the price and asks if there’s anything they or us could do about that and he says “nope you’ve already committed” at this point ourselves and everybody involved in the wedding who has or was going to spend money here is less than pleased with the service we’ve all received. It’s a shame. Not to mention the...
Read moreI purchased two men's dress pants. One was taken with me on site and the other was promised by representative Lance to be mailed to North Carolina to the other party after I already paid for it on MARCH 23rd. We are now on April 16th and no pants have been sent yet. I have called, not once , but twice. The first time (April 6th -14 days after purchase) Lance stated that he failed to mail out the pants and was looking right at them, TWO WEEKS LATER???? Then after another week, April 12th Friday, still, NO PANTS, I called and spoke to Lance- again, who stated he did send them and should be there no later than Tues. (TWO WEEKS for delivery after purchasing pants on March 23) And he stated to call me back with a tracking number, however I never got a call back. Now, Tues. April 16th evening and still NO pants. So, what did I pay for?! At this point I need them to hand give me a pair and pay for me to ship them myself by refunding the cost of the pants due our need to urgently alter them now before the wedding. Not to mention for the horrible service and the constant follow up I have been doing which defeats the purpose of even going into this store to begin with. Also, I bought the other pair there to match and alteted on site, we need them to match if not the other pair will be useless and I will expect them to return regardless of alterations due to their errors. Horrible customer service. I am also reporting them to the BBB for fraudulent activity because it is now approaching a month and no goods have been provided, they have basically charged me for a garment that they have never given me and I'll be calling my credit card for fraud as well unless the literally deliver the item to me with 24hrs because I need them ASAP, we are now on a time deadline and alterations haven't even begun since we have no pants. They have 24 hrs to remedy this. Again, this store charged me for pants and then kept them instead of mailing them as promised. Phone log recorded, receipt in hand , only solution for my wasted time is pants and refund, ASAP for this fraudulent activity for the last month.
