Regarding the post by Joe Putin, and the response by the "owner", I have never had a problem getting an actual receipt from any UPS store. In my business, our customers want a copy of a receipt, not just the tracking number. They usually already have the tracking number, but they want proof of me dropping it off and proof of the tracking number because there is usually multiple return labels they send out to use depending on the type and destination of the equipment. If it's a good, reusable part it gets sent to a different location than a part that is broken and needs repair or a part that is sent to a warranty location which would be sent to yet a different location. The receipt is the most valuable documentation of the actual destination and gives them "checksum" or verification they want. To say you deal with this daily is a strong clue for you to provide the customer a receipt upon request without any hassle. I realize UPS Stores are privately owned and operated and saying you wish people would just use the tracking number so you can save paper is just plain cheap and extremely poor...
Read moreToday was not my first visit here at the UPS store in Galesburg, IL. They seem under staffed yet fairly efficient.
Today’s visit was disturbing. I lined up some devices on their counter to return to Xfinity to take a picture including the serial numbers. The woman grabbed one of them before I got it done and when I objected, I was told (to the best of my recollection) : “. . This is my job, .you can do that when I’m done. . .”
While a minor inconvenience, this seemed rude and dismissive of me as their customer. How is that I was (as the customer) subservient and I was of less importance, as the person bringing items to them and therefore helping keep them in business, than her process of items brought to the business?
I was really put off by that self important seeming attitude. They are not the only game in town. On the other hand, the post office, while generally staffed with friendly and helpful people, is often WAY under staffed and has a VERY long wait.
Just a thought. ...
Read more5 stars for the blonde woman at the desk. I’ve worked with her several times and she’s a-ma-zing! However, the older white man is another story. I believe he’s the owner. I purchased a ups label online and wanted to drop off the package in Galesburg instead of moline. He told me I needed to call the ups customer service number and change the label. So I called ups and after 20 minutes, they told me to drop it off in Galesburg and that the label didn’t need changed. He wasted 30 minutes of my time and was EXTREMELY rude. I went back inside and the woman helped me complete the shipment. One thing to note: the business advertises as veteran owned and benefits from additional commerce because of the veteran distinction. Just so you know, you don’t get to promote yourself as veteran owned, then treat disabled veterans (me) like trash. You need to be respectful to...
