Chocolate Bear — Local services in Garden City

my family and I are regulars to the Garden City area and the store has been a popular stopping place for us. However, on our most recent visit we sent our kids ahead to pick out treats for us to purchase after finishing up at the restaurant next door. Unfortunately the employees’ treatment of us will keep us from ever returning. Our youngest (age 5) picked up a candy, and was promptly threatened and called a thief by the adult woman working there. Our 3 older children were also harrassed with claims of “video footage”. None of them had any intentions of leaving the store. Finally I went in and approached this woman who told us to “let it go”, and was incredibly rude even to me. It breaks my heart to see a place we’ve loved now putting a sour taste in our mouth, but I would not recommend this establishment to anyone with young kids or people who expect quality...

Super cute candy and gift shop in Bear Lake, with relatively reasonable prices given it’s in a tourist area. It was a fun experience just walking around the store to see what was being offered. I personally choose some caramel pecan chocolates, chocolate covered Rice Krispies and chocolate covered Oreos. I’ll come back another day to try the chocolate covered raspberries- they come frozen so you either need to eat right away or be able to keep it cold. Cute Halloween and fall themed candies. This has become a must-visit place for us every time we come to Bear Lake.

Their chocolate-dipped raspberries are fantastic! Huge berries, and the chocolate is pretty good.

The gift shop also has dozens of other chocolate-dipped options. We’ve tried a few other things, and they are okay. What we come back for is the raspberries.

What could be improved: we’d love it if there were a dark chocolate-dipped option for the raspberries. Also, the store is quite old and a bit run down. It certainly adds to the charm, but it also can feel somewhat poorly-lit and hard to see inside if you’re coming in from...
