It was time for me to buy a new mattress and mattress shopping, like buying a new car is something I dred. Who likes pushy sales people? Not me! But I can't sleep on the floor, so alas, I bit my pillow and soldiered into the battle for a bed. I called around and did some research online but what I needed was going to cost me a lot of bank and no doubt many sleepless nights. And then when I was about to resign myself to a life of pinching pennies and worry-induced insomnia, I stumbled upon Jim, the mattress guy. I wasn't sure if this was going to pan out for me because I have a limited budget and high expectations and everyone else I checked into couldn't satisfy either one. But I figured, what have I got to lose? So, I called Jim up and was surprised by his mix of professionalism and friendliness. It was clear that he knew what he was talking about and eager to help, in a not-very-pushy sort of way. So, I scheduled an appointment and stopped by his store where he warmly greeted me and worked hard to meet my needs. In a short time, I had the mattress of my dreams at a price I could afford from a man I realized I could trust. He even surpassed my expectations and delivered a smooth, hassle-free transaction. Loved this place. Expecting our kids and grands for a week in August. Problem—pull out couch has a back breaking bar in the middle; Problem downstairs 30 year old pull out couch has NO springs and a bar. Problem: Two of the grands are now men – over 6 feet tall- one inch floor pillows – not at all adequate. Problem: not a lot of money to spend. Problem: if we find mattresses how to get them to our house and down in the basement – we are both weeks away from 80. SOLUTION! Jim at AFFORDABLE MATTRESS SOLUTIONS IN TRAVERSE CITY! Jim had reasonably priced twin beds- about 7 inches, comfortable, and more than adequate for an adult. He did not make us feel “cheap” because we did not want to get top of the line on these twins for our grands, even laughed with us about how growing grandkids really did deserve more than the camp mat, AND as we lived really close by he delivered them and helped Larry take them to the basement.
