NOT A DEALERSHIP.
Welcome to the new Harley-Davidson. I guess theyâre moving away from motorcycles and riders and toward the much larger population of intenders and pretenders. Some friends and I spent a week in the Smoky Mountains and toured the area on our Harleys, planning to use H-D dealerships as our destinations along the way. We held up our end of the bargain, but were sorely disappointed to find only lame retail stores at each of the locations we visited. No bikes, no Service, no Parts â and no on-premises restrooms. And, to be clear, each of these locations occupied the SRP on Google for âHarley-Davidson dealerships.â These are clearly not dealerships, and are not geared to actual H-D owners. If, however, youâre looking for branded clothing and decorating accessories, youâve found your nirvana. These dealerships are all owned by the same group, whose ironic tagline is, âthe riders destinationâ [sic]. On their website, there is some clarification, but their Google My Business pages are misleading at best. We still visited their dealerships in Tellico Plains, Bryson City and Gatlinburg, and while the staff were mostly friendly and welcoming, we were disappointed in Harleyâs new direction⌠and the lack of even the smallest customer conveniences like, say, on-site restrooms... and this Gatlinburg location has NO parking - not even for...
Read moreI donât have the words to express the appreciation I have for the girls at Hillbilly Harley Davidson to emphasise the hospitality I experienced while there. But Iâll try. We were visiting Gatlinburg during a motorcycle trip and had a little mishap that would have ended our trip early. The young lady at the store went far beyond what I could have expected to try and help us locate a motorcycle part that we needed. She made at least 3 - 4 phone calls to find someone that carried the part we needed. After no success locally, she was able to find a location that had what we needed. The time she spent on the phone and on hold would have been an inconvenience to most, but not her. She was very polite and happy to help a complete stranger. She even refused to take money for her time because she said she was just happy to help. Anyway, Hillbilly Harley and that young lady helped make the rest of our trip successful. She will always be on our hearts...
Read moreFirst, the name will mislead you if you don't catch the "T-Shirt Store" part. Just making sure you understand this is NOT a dealership so no parts department, no service department and no motorcycles for sale.
The GOOD is the staff is super friendly and helpful, the store is clean and the shirts are all folded to Harley Davidson specifications, lol.
The BAD is NO MOTORCYCLE PARKING except for a small area on the side street in front of a paid parking garage that MAYBE 4 bikes can fit in. Also, for a T-shirt store, the largest size they had was 3XL in Men's. Although I found shirts to fit me, I usually pick up one for a friend of mine and he is a bit larger. Asked the staff and they did check but were sold out of 4XL and 5XL. I was told they get very few in those sizes so they sell out quickly. Wouldn't that mean that someone should be ordering more of the...
