2)*this is probably the most important thing to remember. I highly suggest you do not go on this ride up the mountain if it is warm, and especially not if it is hot, these lifts have no cover ( there are a few enclosed lifts—with an even longer wait—about 1 enclosed lift per 10 open lifts)
even for the day when we were there, it was about 50°. It got very warm sitting under the sun.
if I remember correctly, they do not let you bring bottled water or anything like that, on the lifts. (Double check)
We waited about 15 minutes in line to get our tickets, about 10 minutes in line to get on the lift and then it took us about 15 minutes to get up the mountain because of loading and unloading at the top.
They do have a shuttle that drives up and down the mountain which has its own wait time and doesn’t cost extra.
it was well worth the wait. The views from the top of Anakeesta were absolutely gorgeous. The “TreeTop SkyWalk, was the coolest thing ever along with several other sites up there.
Main Attractions up the mountain: —Vista Gardens — Forest Adventures —Black Bear Village —Firefly Village —Lumina Village (night walk)
I’m pretty sure it’s free to look but the “OTHER” stuff costs extra. You can check out deets at their website.
**They do have military discount (with ID) which I was able to get for my family (4 other adults) but you can’t get this discount online. However, waiting in line for this discount was worth it. it...
Read moreEnchanting mountaintop world at night, beautiful vistas during the day. Absolutely recommend that you put this on your itinerary for any trip to or near Gatlinburg. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore everything they have to offer! Lots to do for families, couples, teens, and groups. The price of admission offers a lot - swinging bridges, sightseeing tower, 3 separate play areas for all ages, firepits, rocking chairs with mountain views, the approximately 20 min ski lift to the top (seats 4 together), people watching, and more. Of course, they want to get as much of your money as they can once you get to the top, so there are a dozen or so places to get food, sweets & beverages - some sit down, some indoors, some kiosk style. They also have several different gift shops in various locations, with everything from kitschy keychains and toys to artwork and boutique clothing. There are several additional paid attractions on top, 2 coasters, a zip line, and their interactive, illuminated walk through path. All levels of mobility are accommodated, but not all attractions are accessible. However, there is much to enjoy for all ages and all levels of ability. Be sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy everything - at minimum, several hours. Waiting in line for tickets can take quite some time - recommended that you purchase in advance. The process from arrival to the top of the mountain can take an hour or so - plan accordingly. Don't miss this...
Read moreI think Anakeesta, might be catered more to families with younger children. With high school and adult kids it was a little underwhelming. However I think it's a good idea financially to be able to cover the ski lift, the beautiful views, Zipline ( but get there early, they were sold out, by the time we got through the line and to the ticket booth about 10:05 am and the line wasn't that long), skywalk, tree walk and birdhouse walk, those two both for kids, also the really tall tower to walk up, plus 2 mountain coasters. Zip lining and coasters are an extra cost, but overall good bang for your buck, but just not for us, we enjoyed the coasters on the outside more, like at goats on the roof and moonshine, but I think if the kids were younger we would have loved this place! Edited 3/25/25 I just wanted to come back and justify the 4 stars- so with everything that I explained above. It's just not marketed that way. I didn't get the impression from the ads that it was more so, bring your 11, maybe 12 year old and younger kids who like the treehouse type scene within a small a space, then this is for you. It's sort of a medium size circle. However, it's clean and the staff was friendly. That's why when I saw the 4 stars I just had to come back and edit. I say 4.5 stars because my review is simply based off of the stage in life of my family and my expectations...
