The Clarion Pointe hotel offers a basic hotel room for a fair price. The location is great, just a few steps from downtown attractions and Annakesta. It was nice that the room included a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron, and hair dryer. They provided plenty of towels with room and did not need to ask for more for our two day stay. The free breakfast was much better than expected. They had the normal waffles, cereals, breads, coffee, and juices. The unexpected was that they had two meats! I can’t eat sausage and it was nice to have bacon as an option! They also had fresh yogurt with different toppings. Peeled hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit and various flavors of oatmeal. It was really nicely done. There was plenty of staff keeping up with stocking and keeping everything clean. This was much appreciated. The rooms are pretty basic. This review is for room 308. The good: beds were comfortable, AC worked pretty well. Room was a bit moist and a dehumidifier would have been nice. They provided plenty of various types of pillows. Bedding was clean and there were plenty of blankets for a nice feeling of weight. Beds had full cover protectors and were very clean. Tv worked and there were plenty of channels, controller was clean.

The Bad: There is no room for a desk. As previously stated the 2 chairs were filthy with who know what type of stains! The pool was cloudy and did not look cared for at all. I did not see a single person service the pool or entire stay. We wanted to relax and swim but I could not bring myself to even touch the nasty cloudy water. It looked like a health hazard. If a pool is going to be offered it needs to be clear and sterile. So the hotel is very well lit, the lights are exceptionally bright at night. The light seeps in through the curtain. Cracks in your room is basically lit all night long. You really have to focus on closing your eyes and going to sleep. There was a couple times I woke up in the middle of the night and thought it was morning just to find out it was 3 o’clock, because the room was so lit up it look like the sun was up already! It would be nice if the lights dimmed a little bit at night time, or if the windows were tinted, so you could get a darker space for sleeping

The two chairs in our room were filthy and promptly removed by staff but no replacements were given. The room was remolded but done really badly! Who ever did the remodel did not know what they were doing and it is evident. The shower wall did not extend long enough and water gets all over the bathroom floor. They really need a shower curtain. We had plenty of towels so we used them on the floor to clean up the water that leaked out. However over time this is going to create issues and mold! The sink cabinet was raw lumber. Looks like some made it in their garage and was not painted or sealed.. again with the water element being I. This area and intreated wood.. this will cause mold and mildew! The floor is part lineolum and part carpet.. should have done lineolum in the whole room.. carpet was dirty. The lineolum had buckling by the bathroom door.. not sure if that was from the leaking shower or just poor craftsmanship! The wall had several construction markings where they were going to place electrical outlets and the mirror that did not match up with the actual positions. Result was you saw ugly markings on the walls and paint chips.

All in all, you get what you pay for. If you want a basic room because you just need a good nights sleep, this location will do! If you are looking for a more luxurious day, you were going to be disappointed. All in all, I would definitely stay at this location again as we like to be active in this area and we don’t spend too much time in the room.

It would be nice for this location to take the renovations a little bit more seriously and do a double check on some of the rooms that they’re renting. With just a little bit more attention to detail this location could be...

The rooms were fine. My issue is with management. On our last night there, July 30 2024, a bear terrorized the hotel overturning every trashcan around the entire place, strowing trash everywhere. These trashcans were the lighter duty "bear proof" type, but NONE of them were secured to the ground. They were all flipped and rummaged through as if they were just regular residential cans, but they definitely were not. They were still heavy metal cans. One of which was flipped right down the side of my vehicle and cause quite a bit of damage to the left rear door. Now I know they can't really help the bears being there, but the unsecured trash cans made matters dangerous and damaging to property. I only have liability insurance on this vehicle so I took it up with the front desk. They produced a form for me to fill out and made me feel like there would be a trouble free resolution "when the manager got there". This "manager" never showed, ever. I'm not convinced there really is one, because how hard is it to just call or email someone back. I wasn't being rude or anything to make them want to avoid me. Just the opposite really. Because I really thought it was going to be resolved, so why mess that up by getting all upset and belligerent. Multiple calls to the front desk for the manager over the course of multiple weeks produced nothing but messages being passed through the front desk. I talked to the same front desk guy every time for everything. He said he was told by the manager, to tell me to file a claim with my insurance company and get a claim number, but I informed him that I did not have that type of insurance on this vehicle. Sounds funny huh? Manager told him to tell me..... but that's how it happened every time. I did talk my insurance company into filing a claim though, that would go nowhere, just to get a claim number, and I gave it to the front desk like they said they wanted. Still never heard back from them. I got the front desk a couple of more times and he acted surprised that I had not had this resolved, or that no one called me back. The point where I gave up dealing with them was when it appeared as if the phone to the front desk was suddenly disconnected. I could no longer get through to the front desk, only to a room if I new the room number, and I tried for multiple days and got the same recordings and hang-ups. If I didn't know better, I would have thought I was dialing back a spam number. All I ever wanted to do was to talk to someone in charge, to walk me trough settling an insurance claim with them, but I guess that is too much to ask for in this world. I posted pictures. The last of which was after the front desk clerk had moved the can from its original location, that was within the cross-hatches right beside my vehicle. The vehicle never moved the whole time...

As a previous worker who has worked at a hotel in customer service and currently work as a cleaner do not stay here. The worst service I’ve ever experienced no southern hospitality at all. Hotel room had a nice design and truly would be a great hotel as the location is awesome however… I had asked for a Mountain View on the top floor in the main building and instead after 25-30 min of waiting with no info given constantly having to go up and see what’s going on I was put into building b with no Mountain View what so ever and my room wasn’t even ready when I got up there. I really got upset when the housekeeper said she had the bathroom to do and it took her not even 2 min🤮 then I see her moping the room with a towel!!!!! With further inspection of the room the shower rod was rusted floor was filthy, bathroom mirror not even cleaned, didn’t look like the shower was either and very dusty. I went to ask front desk for a different room and to tell about the issues. I get down there and there is about 3 people checking in and it took. 30 min which is not right. I mention everything and doesn’t offer anything except to see what she can do about view as I stated I wanted a different room with a view. I was then moved to the main building with a beautiful view even though the window was facing the stairs 😒 right as I get in I find a huge clump of hair beneath the mirror behind the door and mirror again in bathroom was not cleaned and found dirtiness in the shower. The first night we slept on the sheets but the next night we went to go under and found a bunch of dark brown stains assuming they were poop stains or blood. also was told via there website that there would be screen casting in the rooms which there was not and when I called the lady was very rude. I go to checkout the next day and no one was even there. There was barely a time someone was at the desk. Breakfast wasn’t to bad with what u can expect as a free breakfast but will never stay here again. Also elevator was disgusting and not convenient in the main building. Luggage carts were also very rundown and barely function able. I will be calling corporate and expect a discount as this was the most ridiculous place I have stayed. If only you guys had better people working and maintaining the hotel then it would probably be great! I have pictures to prove all...

If your on a budget, stay here. If you want to enjoy your stay in gatlinburg, stay somewhere else. First night here and I’m already ready to leave. Wife booked last minute so I guess we get what we get from what’s left on a holiday weekend. This place is built on a hill. Be prepared for that as she picked this place so we could walk everywhere and not have to pay for parking in town. I might still end up parking in town and be in the middle of everything as I would say this hotel is on the outskirts of gatlinburg, where you walk downhill to everything you want to do, and walk uphill back to your room and hope your on the ground floor. The door sticks, my wife and kid got locked in the room for a few minutes as they couldn’t get it open. The bathroom metal door looks fresh out of a remodeled prison, and has so many layers of rust and paint that you have to push it completely open or closed as it will not move on it’s own. The bathroom looks like the owner did it themselves to save money. Upside? It’s a walk in shower. Nice for old folks that don’t want to step into the shower. Downside? The water pressure is disappointing, and the shower floor turns into a slip n slide when soapy. Tile work is sloppy, and runs out to the sink so it’s the same tile on the walls and floor, no divider for privacy to change or anything once the bathroom floor is wet since the curtain doesn’t come down far enough and you can’t adjust it. And there is no place to put your own soap or shower stuff. They have their generic stuff mounted on the wall and that’s it. Everything else has to sit on the floor with your feet I suppose. The door looks like they locked a bear inside the bathroom. Glad I brought my own pillow. The bed is what you would expect. Surprisingly medium size mini fridge in the room. Breakfast is very basic. Don’t book this place on account of them having breakfast. Watered down coffee, 3 types of cereal, waffles and eggs ect. Nothing that would be worth getting again. Don’t get your hopes or standards up to high thinking about staying here unless it’s just that much cheaper than anywhere else. I for one won’t be coming back to this establishment.

So if your anything like me, your probably cruising possible hotels near Gatlinburg, surprised that you found a nice hotel right in Gatlinburg for a reasonable rate compared to all the other options close by. Now that I've booked and I'm sitting in one of these rooms, I understand why it was significantly less than other local options. This may be the price of a normal fairly nice room in a normal town, But this is Gatlinburg and this price is for a very low end budget stay here. It's very outdated and not a nice room at all, it's anything but luxury. I felt comfortable with it because there wasn't a single review mentioning bedbugs & that's normally my only requirement, but this has the look of exactly the type of place you'd find them once you walk in your room. Not sure if their here or not, I'll update the review if they are after ive slept here. In a normal town this is on par with your average 1970s 50$ room in a bad area families and normal people avoid. The photos listed make it look 10x nicer than it is. Parking is an all out nightmare it's almost impossible to get though here, and there was maybe 2 spots available in the whole place. If you can't find a spot out of the 2 or 3 available near the reception check in area at the front you'll have a 20 min walk down and back up the mountain to go check yourself in, and there's no nice big covered area by the front doors to park and check in like a normal hotel would have. Overall if your just looking for a cheap super low budget place to stay in Gatlinburg to be close to the strip maybe this is the place for you, but if you want even a shadow of a resemblance of getting a decent room in Gatlinburg this place will disappoint you. For this price you could stay in Pigeon Forge or Sevierville at a pretty nice new modern hotel. 0% charm at this hotel whatsoever. No bar soap in the rooms, and the shower water pressure is so poor it's almost a trickle.
