The owner of this store is a scam artist and a thief. She stole from me by selling me a defective pair of earrings that broke within an hour of me leaving the store. She refused to refund my $$. Her assistant Ryan told me to mail the earrings back and the company that they purchased the earrings from could repair them. There was a $5 charge for the repair. I mailed the one earring back to Ophila's so they can ship the earring to the manufacturer 4 weeks ago. When I called to check to see if they received the earring, a couple days after I shipped it and to confirm it was sent out for repair, the owner told me that she was going to return the package to sender and not pay to have the earring repaired, that was 4 weeks ago. I still have never received the earring, which i paid $58.00 for, I have left multiple messages and a called numerous times and she has never returned my call. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. SHE IS A THIEF AND HAS NO RESPECT FOR HER CUSTOMERS. SHE IS AN AWFUL HUMAN BEING. Check out Yelp for more...
Read moreI come to Georgetown every year since for probably 15 years for the Christmas market! This year I went into Ophelia's which is one of my must go shops, but this year might be my last year as I was yelled at by the woman behind the jewelry counter. I was yelled at to not take photo's. I was taking a photo of the lamps that they had a beautiful set up of! I was in quite a shock to be yelled at, and completely understand not taking photo's of art, but these are just Moroccan lamps. Also it does appear I am not the only one who has had this exact experience. Maybe put a sign near or hanging from the lamps that say no photos. In addition maybe ask someone nicely to not take a photo then yell at them in front of the whole store. The only reason this is not a 1 star because of the other lady behind the counter who calmly apologize and calmly explained and offered up any help...
Read moreI can’t even begin to tell you of the wonderful experiences I’ve had at Ophelia’s over the past 20+ years! My family and I have been coming to Georgetown for vacations and shopping at this wonderful store is the highlight of our trips! From enjoying all the antique furniture to the vintage jewelry, to great conversation with the lovely owner Julia, to excellent service where she shipped a beautiful necklace to my daughter out-of-state, after all this time, I am SO GLAD she is still here! My son and I came for the first time in years and when I saw Julia open her shop door, I ran across the street to see her and go shopping! Her selection of merchandise is impressive, and her sweet spirit is so appreciated! You must shop at this store to see the wide variety of antiques and other gifts and jewelry and vintage books … the...
