Stan's Shoes — Local services in Glendale

I originally posted my review based on my initial experience with an employee at the store.When I brought in a defective pair of OR Clouds which had fallen apart at a seam, the manager told me there was nothing he could do.I had only worn these about 25 times around my neighborhood. That was his starting statement. It didn’t feel like he really cared about me being his customer for shoes that cost $145.00 purchased a few months ago. Finally after we discussed it more, he agreed to contact the manufacturer. If I’m out of luck, I would not continue as a customer. I have many shoes that are years old and haven’t ripped out at the pinkie toe as these have. UPDATE, I was contacted by the store through email and phone call to tell me that I was going to get a full store credit toward anything I decided on. I went into Stan's and was pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming experience. I received the best customer service I've ever had in a shoe store or department. I tried on numerous pairs and decided on a pair of New Balance extra wide with. My initial assumptions were wrong. I stopped in today to get some insoles to add to my newly acquired Italian designer dress shoes that are lovely but hard as rocks. I was greeted warmly when I walked in and was listened to intently as I explained what I was hoping for. Greg eagerly pulled out some discarded insoles from shoes that people had purchased but chose to add different insoles to. He helped me find the correct size and helped me trim them down to my shoes and it made a world of difference. I can’t say how much I appreciate someone giving that level of customer service without pushing things on me I didn’t need. It was extremely refreshing and a rarity in this day and age. Greg went the extra mile to get me exactly what was needed without hesitation and saved me some money in the process. Hands down the best experience I’ve had at a Stan’s and possibly some of the best customer service I’ve ever received in general. I will be raving about it for plenty of time to come I’m sure. When I think of all the money I wasted buying tennis shoes that I thought would last & help my feet, I could have bought 3 or 4 pairs of "high quality" shoes from Stan's. I bought my son's baby shoes from Stan's back in the mid 80's so I knew they were a quality store. From the minute I walked in I was greeted & a very friendly EXPERIENCED sales associate helped me. He knew brands, quality & had great suggestions. He also made sure that my orthodics would fit perfectly in my New Balance tennis shoes. I also purchased an excellent pair of winter boots that I wrote today while I walked my dog. Warm, comfortable & sized correctly. I highly recommend at least one visit to Stan's.
