Dog Oasis — Local services in Goodlettsville

Our entire experience this past week was poor. We had a week long boarding appointment and grooming appointment while she was there. We had worked out a drop off time several weeks prior and confirmed it the Friday before we were to drop off on Sunday. There was a "miscommunication" and they didn't show up until 2 1/2 hours later. In addition, the owner apparently contacted an employee to come take care of us when I finally got in touch with someone, but she sat in her car pretending to be a customer because she was "scared". (We were NOT ugly at all) The owner showed up, we were forgiving and headed out of town. She was to stay the week and be groomed first thing on the day we were scheduled to pick her up. I called to see if she was ready and was asked if I wanted her to just stay all day. I declined and said if she had already been groomed we would come soon. Upon arriving, she told my husband the amount due was over $400. He questioned the amount and finally had to get her to break down the charges. In the end, she said it was (another) mistake and we only owed less than half that amount. (No discount or consideration was made for keeping us waiting 2 1/2 hours when dropping her off.) None of her belongings were together. We had to ask for each item individually. As we started down the road, we realized we didn't have her bed. I called to tell her we would be coming back to get it. She didn't realize we wanted it and said it was in the wash because she had an accident in it. (???) We went back and got it even though it was wet and covered in hair and blue fuzz. Her grooming is the worst job I've ever seen. Hair is uneven, tail was cut short (we requested to keep the length) and several nails had not been trimmed. Keep in mind my dog was super active and healthy prior to boarding here. Not well since picking her up. Now after a $150 vet visit she is being treated for kennel cough. Fortunately she received the immunization in March so it should be less severe. Kennel cough is contracted from other dogs and unclean conditions. She has not been exposed to other dogs anywhere else. Needless to say, we will not be using them again. I never give negative reviews, but after much thought, decided this needed to be told. Get...

An absolute nightmare!! If you love your pet, don't take them here!! The groomer was trying to take our dog!! Gave her card and said “if you don’t want her, I’ll take her” then proceeded to call animal control on us!! It traumatized our kids thinking they were taking our dog away!!

It all started because I was out of town for one day and my mom took our sweet Pearl girl to get a bath and get de-matted. She’s an outdoor dog with long hair who loves to dig and roll so it gets crazy.

The girl said it would be $63 on the phone but after dropping her off they said it would be more, which was fine. Then they called again and said it was going to be even more for the de-matting, she said fine but cap it out at $120. They called AGAIN and said they had to charge more because she had fleas! My mom said no, we would treat the fleas with a flea treatment at our animal hospital.

After four hours they hadn’t even finished her bath yet!! She wasn’t rinsed and there were still mats all over her tail! They were closing in one hour and were insisting that my mom leave her! My mom refused to leave her any longer and said she would rinse her at home and we would finish getting the mats off ourselves. The girl proceeded to say she would love to take my dog if my mom didn’t want her… my mom was shocked and very uncomfortable!

My mom spent $120 on my dog and ended up having to wash her in the shower at home because she said they had 15 dogs to do that afternoon. That alone is outrageous, but the next day after I returned home, animal control came to the house! She had called and said she had fleas and a “possible ear infection” that we weren’t willing to treat! Pearl goes to the vet regularly and has no indication of an ear infection! Our kids were so scared and traumatized that they might take our family dog all because we decided to take her to a professional vet to get flea and tick treatment.

Save yourself the heartache and take your pet to a loving facility that will actually take care of your pets, not up charge you and get mad...

So the cut is beautiful and I appreciate it but when I dropped off I specifically said save as much hair as possible. My husband specifically asked for them not to be shaved due to the cold temperatures. They warned me that there was mats and yes the underside had mats which I asked for the underside to be shave . They said the legs may have to be shaved. I said ok So when I left I knew my dogs were being shaved on the underside and legs possibly shaved and all hair kept as long as could be on top. Then I go to pick up, they charge me extra. I had to pay $107.00 which they included 2 dematting charges that no one called and asked me or warned me about. So. Watch out. Pay ahead and get in writing what you want done. I'm so disappointed for such a pretty haircut and the extra charges and extra hair removed. Bummed! I feel I cant recommend them based on my visit. I feel so taken advantage of and forced to pay for something extra not discussed with me. Ps. They also asked me of my dog had ringworm because my 2 were apparently left with other dogs in which one had ringworm and pooped around all the dogs. I have the jot of picking up poop daily on a mat so I know wasn't my dogs. Now on top of their bill I will have to go get them checked and treated for tha . THANKS dog oasis for shaving my dogs coats off against my wishes, charging me for dematting when all you did was shave off the mats clearly notable by my shaved dogs, and now exposure to worms because no one was watching all the dogs together and find the poop later. Plus, that bothers me after this morning my dog is scurrying away from the other dogs because shes terrified, now knowing you left her alone with other dogs which when I left all were 4x her size. :-( especially since I brought that to your attention and a couple dogs were corrected. Ps. See the 2 photos of all the long hair saved on their backs and look how pretty their eyes are now there's no red left! Ugghh so...
