So myself and my wife and friends and family Have been coming to this restaurant in Rivergate Nashville Tennessee since the late 80s this is the first time that I’ve think I’ve ever been very very very disappointed! So myself and my wife go here to eat today they were steady but not real busy it looks to be only two waitresses waiting on tables I noticed that some of the other staff did help out some! I do understand because my wife was a waitress for 20 years so I do know that when you’re understaffed and Overworked I know it’s hard to get to everybody’s table multiple times to make sure everything is good. But after we received our food we no longer saw anybody they would pass our table and go about their business when we were done eating then the waitress came by and said was everything OK what are you going to say at this point about anything good or bad because it’s too late! I ordered nachos and of course when they put the pico on the nachos apparently they don’t Drain the juice. So needless to say my nachos was a little waterlogged! but I was so hungry when I got there I didn’t want to send them back and order something else because I’ve been in the restaurant business before and I know what happened sometimes everybody says they don’t do it but I’ve seen it and it has happened to me! So in my practice when I have sent food back I do not reorder. I ordered two street tacos with shredded chicken but I was charged for baked chicken. so instead of being charged around $2.80 per taco I was charged $4.10 per taco when I said something to the waitress about it it seemed like she wanted to argue about it! I know what I ordered because I saw the price difference so that was total BS. The chips for your salsa and everything was cold no warm chips no hot chips cold chips only. So for me this was a lesson learned I was not supposed to go there and eat today totally failed $45 for nothing I’m sorry to say I will never ever go back to this location no matter what! the one in Antioch I’ve been there and it’s pretty consistent very good service and very good food no language barrier the waiter or waitress does speak Spanish but also very good English so they understand what I’m ordering! So Rivergate location thanks for ruining my experience with y’all no need to reply to this because anything you say doesn’t mean Jack. because I’ve seen restaurants give a reply back to good and bad reviews and they’re always saying I’m sorry you had a bad experience I’m sorry about this I’m sorry about that but I’ve not once seen any restaurant saying if it was that bad please come back and will correct it on us but that won’t help so thank...
Read moreLas palmas was always the Go-To Mexican restaurant for us growing up, and even as I was older, but they have adopted this less for more mentality that has really turned us away from going much. Which is a shame because I still prefer them over others, but I'll sacrifice for getting more for our money. Especially when I'm feeding the whole family. We went a week ago, and I was surprised when they brought out the chips and salsa for the table. In place of a basket of chips, they gave a table of 4 people 1 scoop of chips. Not to say that they were gone in 2 minutes, and we were waiting to ask for more and even longer to get them. Again, we get 1 medium-sized scoop. I mean, they are tortilla chips. How much could they set them back to just give the basket.
Then we get the food ordered, and they do quickly get it out. For 20 bucks, I got the 2 Chimichanga meal, and my Chimi's were smaller than a street Taco. No more beans and rice. You only get to choose from 1. My daughter got the LA Palmas special (chicken, cheese, and rice), and it didn't even fill up the plate they brought it out on for 16 bucks. The long of it is that I understand times have changed, and that stuff just costs more. But if you're going to raise the prices of the food that I have always enjoyed, then I would expect the portions to at least remain the same or even larger. I'm just gonna go to other places like Las Maracas. Where the prices are similar but I get to take some home for later. I just think Palmas must have been bought out, or they have adopted a mentality for the customers that I just do not agree with.
Bring back the old Las Palmas and we will...
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. I will never go back here again. Service was horrible and the food was subpar at best. It took us at least 10 minutes to be seated (with at least half of the tables sitting empty) and then took at least another 5 minutes for a waiter to come over to our table. After getting our drinks, we proceeded to try and place our order; however, in the middle of placing our order, our waiter walked off and went missing for about 5 minutes. When she returned, we continued placing our order. I had a question about the menu and our waiter informed me that it would cost me an extra $3.50 to change my chicken from shredded to "grilled" because it was a different item on their menu (something that I have never had a problem with before). Shortly after placing our order, we ran out of chips and salsa and drinks. Once our waiter came back by our table, probably 20 minutes later, it took another 10 minutes for her to actually bring us chips and salsa. It took at least 35-45 minutes to get our food and the portions were very small. This place is just a rip off and there was nothing good about...
