Edit: Changed my review to 2 stars after speaking to the manager. He was very kind and understanding and offered to give me a tour of the facilities, even though I’m not interested. Definitely sweetened the whole situation up after leaving a sour taste in my mouth earlier. Thank you Tyler!
Got a day pass here after recently moving to the area and scouting for a new gym. Haven’t been to a PF in 10 years. I was told by the app I’d need to show ID at the front desk to confirm my identity for the day pass. When I get to the front desk, Patti and another employee (young woman, dark hair, glasses- didn’t get her name) were so engrossed in their conversation that I was not greeted. No worries. I wait. However, Patti makes eye contact with me, and continues talking to the young woman. She then rudely taps on the scanner in a “you know what to do” way. Spoiler alert- I don’t know what to do. So I scan in, not showing my ID. That could’ve been a QR code to my warranty for my blender for all they know. So here I am, not knowing where anything is, no greeting, and already feeling uncomfortable. I’ve been going to gyms and lifting for over a decade now and I’ve never been treated like this. After my workout I walk directly into the wellness area (I wasn’t sure if this was included in the day pass, and would have asked had I been greeted on my arrival). After realizing I can’t use the massage beds without the front desk setting it up, I go back to the lobby to see- surprise- Patti and the young woman talking to someone who I assume is an off the clock employee behind the front desk with them. Y’all love to chit chat here! The off the clock employee was more helpful about using the massage beds than the young woman or Patti were. I informed the young woman that I’ve never been here and was still not given an explanation as to how anything in this gym works. On the way out, I ask to speak to a manager. The young woman told me there was no manager on site today (odd), and that a manager would be there tomorrow. No time given as to when, and no interest in what the issue was. Read moreI have been a member of Planet Fitness in Graham for 5 years. The Graham location has severe management problems. First they have been renovating for many months and the improvements are nice. The new locker room tile is a big improvement, but the new floor tile is extremely slick and someone is going to have a bad accident very soon. There needs to be some type of mat to avoid an accident from slipping and falling. It appears the renovations are complete yet there is little to no hot water in the showers all of the time. The staff clearly could not care less when I have questioned them about this several times over the last month. I come 3 to 5 days a week and it never changes. I am beginning to think its a convenient way for ownership to save money. Also during the peak times of 5-8pm the staff will take a floor scrubber machine the size of a washing machine and clean the locker rooms when people are trying to change. The machine soaps up the floor and leaves it extremely wet and soapy when members are trying to change to begin their work out or to use the shower. They also do it in the main facility at peak times of 5-8pm when the facility is full of members. It bad enough to have to wait for equipment at peak times but now you have to work around the staff scrubbing the floors. I would think they would do this maintenance during nonpeak hours. Clearly management doesn't care...
Read moreAnd today I'm dropping it to a 1. Roughly HALF of the treadmills are broken down now, going on week 3! I got water from the machine a few weeks ago and it was brown. I started bringing water bottles from home, but then decided to give it another shot last week.. The water is so dirty. Do better, y'all. I've been a long time customer of this location and I LOVE it, for the comminuty, but this facility is getting out of control.
Last edit, a few months ago.. Today I'm changing my 5 star review of my local PF. While it's still my favorite way to start the day and I love the environment and staff, I'm hugely disappointed in the upkeep of the women's bathroom. I've been a faithful member for years, and for the last 2 years, at least, the handicap stall has been out of order, more often than not. It'll work for a week or so, here and there, and then it's broken again. For the last 2 weeks, EVERY stall has been broken. Most people drink a large amount water while working out and it's really hard to "hold it" until you get home. I was literally dancing, while in the changing stall this morning. Ridiculous. Do better!
