So I have had the same woman draw my blood twice now, and on both occasions she was cold and rude to me for no reason. She wouldn’t draw my cortisol because it has to be done before 9am and it was 9:07am. I said no worries, figured it might be a strict quest rule and said I would come back for that part of the test. For the rest I said “would you mind using a butterfly needle if you have one” and she said “can I ask why?” as she rolled her eyes. I said “I have sensitive skin and changing tubes on a straight needle is very irritating for me. If you can’t, it’s no big deal I’ll survive it’s just a preference”. She rolled her eyes again and said “you know there are reasons why we choose certain needles” ok???? And then proceeded to use the butterfly needle anyway.
First of all, I don’t owe you an explanation as to why I have a preference. There are many reasons why a patient may have that preference. I understand it’s annoying to wait an additional 30 seconds for a blood draw but I think you’ll be ok. Also, guess what, sometimes the patient sitting across from you is also a medical professional. I’m not a jerk so I never play that card, but I would NEVER treat my patients this way. Have a little bedside manner. Imagine someone with needle phobia or anxiety just trying to get through their bloodwork with this person? I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be questioned like the Spanish Inquisition at your appts, be kind to your patients.
Then as she is drawing my blood, another phlebotomist comes in to complain about another patient in front of me. This behavior is at the very least unprofessional and the most nearly a HIPAA violation. Get it together guys, it’s a blood draw. It’s not that deep.
What sucks the most, is that this woman is actually a really good phlebotomist. She never misses and is relatively painless. But being good at your job isn’t an excuse to treat...
Read moreRoger was vey nice and expert in handling the things. Me and my wife had the appointment at the same time for physicals and h pylori test. Another technician attended (don’t know her name) for me and asked to verify the name. The name was correct and gave her my insurance card. She verified the insurance and drawn blood. My wife was attended by Roger. He found that the names were somehow switched and came to check with me on the another room. That is when he found that the names were switched and he corrected. This has delayed the things for him as well as her. Not sure who the same got switched. Before drawing blood she could have asked for my date of birth. It’s a lessons learnt for me that, we should not book the appointment for the same time slot. I hope there is some kind of defect in the booking or processing system that switched the names. Kudos to Roger who found it and fixed it. He was also kind enough to do the H pylori for me and my wife. Actually specking the other technician who attended me should have done the h pylori test for me. But she got tensed with all the things that has happened and asked me to wait in the waiting hall. While I was with my wife , Roger noticed it and he was kind enough to do the H pylori test for me. It was not a pleasant morning, but Roger took care of the things. The other lady is also an expert, but I felt like she need little bit more of maturity and experience in handling things. We did our test on 5/15 @8.40 Am. Hope the quest organization notices this and provide some kind of...
Read moreQuest is terrible with a track record of poor performance and inferior customer service. I called Granby CT many times and nobody answers the phone. You must endure nearly 2 minutes of junk messaging before you press 6 for an operator. There is nobody to answer. I believe the girl with the needle also answers the phone. The mailbox is full so what do you do next? They cant call back when you can't leave a message. I then called the national number and waited 25 minutes on hold and hung up. My PCP doc needs their fax number and there is no human I can reach for it. The web page does not have the number posted. No medical office should be this difficult to reach. Now my PCP doc can't send the necessary test prescription information. I'M SCREWED! My PCP doc refuses to use Quest and now I know why. I need annual bloodwork for a kidney doctor and it's the same exasperating routine each year. The kidney doc uses Quest. Quest wants their money but the customer experience is the worst. I will ask my kidney doc which other labs he works with because I don't need this any crummy service longer. Quest is BAD!!! Good luck getting a doctors order to Quest if he is not in their computer network. The patient...
