TC Metal Detectors — Local services in Granby

Took time to drive to Tony's shop to talk a little detecting, ask his advice out of respect, and would have gladly paid for a little tutorage/lesson on my Equinox to see what I'm doing wrong. Had every attention of buying new detector anyway (Nokta Legend) after deciding from him. But I'm very unhappy with my Equinox 600 and he apparently wanted me to buy a Manticore. I told him if I'm not impressed with Minelab and all the deep sweet sounding signaled junk I dig and I out find my 600 with my old Whites XLT. Well herded out of shop after 5 minutes after taking time to drive to him. Not overly friendly guy at all and made me feel like I was a bother, he should stick to online sales and certainly not quit day job. I deal antique clocks and if people want stop over to talk clocks before deciding I'll talk their ear off. Buying new detector elsewhere simply because he was kind of very rude and when I left the first thing I said to myself was that certainly was a big waste of time and gas trying to talk...

Ordered an RTG Monster Scoop online to ship to Canada - got an order confirmation and no other communication for 7 days - I worried - found "caution" written by someone who ordered and got nothing also - then saw BBB reviews - 3 complaints for delivery - scared I was going to be scammed I emailed Tony stating I demanded communication about my order - nothing - I then threatened complaining to BBB - he then answered saying he doesn't do business in Canada anymore and doesn't know why I wasn't informed of this - no apology - just not sending - didn't charge you - I still advised my credit card co not to allow any $$ going to TC - don't know why the guy's system would take a Canadian address & send confirmation of order if he had stopped Canadian sales - his other responses to other complaints had a similar flimsy line - something felt and feels off...

1st positive experience. My girlfriend bought me a ctx3030 for a Xmas present a couple years ago from TC metal detectors and got a great deal on it with bundled accessories.

2nd positive experience. I called TC in search of a beach sand scoop on the way to the beach and got what I wanted.

3rd positive experience. At 7pm on a Friday night I called TC to find out if he had waterproof headphones for ctx3030. He said yes and I drove 45 minutes from Massachusetts to meet him for the headphones.

So all and all 3 for 3 ain't bad! I've read other reviews on TC metal detectors where people have had less than unsatisfactory experiences and I'm not sure if they were the issue or what but for a guy to welcome me to his home business at random times when I needed something is pretty impressive.

Will do business with TC metal...
