New opinion. I will never go back in that store. I stopped in after a medical treatment and was weak and shaky but needed liquids and soft food. I was not up to doing auto checkout. So I got in the only line open with a cashier and bagger. The 2 men in front of me had carts overflowing. I barely made it through was perspiring and holding myself up by the cart. When I got to the cashier I was frustrated. I mentioned I'm never coming insude to shop again. Omygoodness. The cashier and bagger ganged up on me telling me if I didn't like it I could get a job there and help. I can't work with my severe illness. Then I asked about putting in my rewards number and was told by the cashier why would I need them if I'm not coming back in to shop? HELLO! Ever heard of pick up and delivery??? The pharmacy window? Other Meijer stores?? They were shockingly rude when I only meant that I can't do it again. As I was leaving the bagger who had to mentioned how cute someone thought she was, told me to have the day I deserved, like she had an Idea of what I deserved. They're is no way they couldn't see that I was struggling. I know the cashier did. She was checking me out like she had to do it before the building burned down. Hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a store. Grand Ledge is not friendly Meijer. Rude! That Meijer has always had some issues but the customer definitely didn't matter to the staff and the manager I later talked to. I could name names but I'm not like them. I believe in treating people how I want to be treated.
I used to think: Always a good place to shop, but frequently busy. They put in a new line system because of that and I think it helps. Good produce, meat, bakery, toy section, garden section etc. One...
Read moreMeijer will always be compared to Wal Mart Supercenters now that they have come to town. I grew up in Lansing with the S.Pennsylvania Meijer being my grocery store and so much more! Then as an adult who had no idea what Wal Mart was, I moved to Cincinnati and actually worked at one that was not a Supercenter for a little over a year. Anyway, I always felt at that store the same thing I feel at this West Lansing Supercenter, like I just a customer. Like I didn’t want to be there any longer than needed. Whereas at Meijer, especially the Grand Ledge Meijer it feels homey, like you want to be there and most of the employees really do the same. I absolutely do not care for what they did with the cash registers recently but the store as a whole just feels like you belong! Plus they are VERY good at keeping up with demand and maintaining stock on most products. I’m in there all hours, day and night. 1,2,3,4AM or maybe 1,2,3,4PM and that’s where I get groceries as well as hygiene supplies and dog food. Very friendly staff, always have cashiers working, stock is kept up very well, prices are comparable to that other ghetto store down by I96, and the employees could all teach that other store’s employees something about being approachable, manners, putting customers first, and pretty much retrain them in all aspects of their jobs! Thank you Meijer for the experience you provide as well as the atmosphere you provide us with to make shopping a little more manageable. Great store, great...
Read moreMy spouse and I only love less the 1 mile from you Grand Ledger store. So it is very convenient for is because it is only less then 1 mile from where we live. Today I have another opinion about this store. 1, they are redoing it. It is one big mess. You can't find anything there because it is all still in boxes that you have to walk around. I hate the new design they are doing. I don't think that we will be doing our weekly groceries any more do to ot being a mess. It took me over 3 hours to find what ever I could find they I needed to buy. We will be going to the West Saginaw St. Store from now on. For just 1 or 2 things that we need is the only reason we will be shopping there anymore. Even there Pharmacy is a mess. They never have you perscription thst we have been buying from them for years. Why in the heck don't they keep stocked with a perscription that is used alot?? I have had many times had to show them that we was over charged for a script. I take it back to them to prove that they did not look at all of my information that I have from my Insurance co. Plus from Good RX and my Gold Good Rx. Also there prices thst they offer. That to will be transformer to the Meijer we buy our weekly groceries at. It just makes me sick knowing that here we had a good Meijer store for many years to make is so upset we are going to not shop at this store E. Saginaw St Meijer with it being so close...
