If I could this store a negative star I would! This used to be a great store with a high inventory and had a friendly and knowledgeable staff. About 7 years ago things changed dramatically. At the height of the COVID pandemic I went into this establishment; no masks were worn, and when I questioned it, I received an extremely rude response that they "didn't have to" wear masks"; hence this store closed down for awhile during the pandemic due to a COVID outbreak. Since that time, I have gone into their "business" out of extreme necessity, only to be treated EXTRMELY RUDE AGAIN! I will never give them another dime! I will gladly drive to Portland, Charlotte, Lansing, in order to not have to deal with these people. When I needed to get one bucket yesterday, mind you, I was the ONLY one in the store, I had to ask to be cashed out, despite the female cashier ("Teresa") seeing me standing there. When she approached the cash register, not only did she not acknowledge me, she literally glared at me. I ended up leaving my bucket at the cash register....Wow; last time I checked my patronage was keeping their "business" open. Lastly, to management; I wish you well. 8/23 and 8/25/2020. Two different female cashiers refuse to wear masks inside this retail establishment. One of them tried to get into a shouting match with me yesterday, spewing the HIPPA miss-truths being spread by conservative media. I spoke with the manager and he witnessed the incident yesterday when I just politely asked for someone with a mask to cash me out. He did offer an apology for the employee's behavior towards me.

After looking at the current Executive Order in Michigan, this store is in violation of multiple sections (unmasked employees in customer facing positions that cannot be socially distant, no hand sanitizer at the door). I spoke to the Manager this morning and took him the 30 page guidelines from the State of Michigan for retail establishments. He was polite, but shrugged it all off.

All of the other employees and customers were wearing masks and are very helpful people. Most employees appear to be in the age range where Covid-19 is a real risk. The same cashier was working today...

Was in this Ace hardware Saturday to pick up some 8" wood screws to fix a fence. They had exactly what I needed, and I got as many as I could afford. The gentleman that helped me find the item was beyond friendly, and super polite and helpful, even giving me advice on the bits needed, as well as a trick to make them work (and they did!!)

The cashier was the kindest soul and really helped me out. Knew their stuff and totally helped make my day even better.

On a rainy, windy cold day, these two earned not only a new customer for life, but a word of mouth customer. I'll praise them both for their handy helpful attitudes and going the extra mile.
