Sanctuary — Restaurant in Grand Ledge

Not sure where to start with this review. The food. Theres a taco truck outside that you can call ahead and order, go outside to pick it up and then bring the food inside. The food was good. Nothing where I feel like oh man I need to get back here soon. There are no table waitresses. If you want a drink you go to the bar to order and, for me, both orders took a long time, both, in the line and, then to get my order. We had a large group. A dozen+ adults and about 8 or so kids. In my pictures so can see the outdoor patio area. To make things less chaotic in the building I took all the kids to the EMPTY patio area. They played tag. After a short time a waitress came out and with a lot of poor attitude explained how this wasn't a play area and the kids can't run around and cause rocks to get on the rock tiled areas. I immediately explained that to the kids and started them kicking the rocks back to where they belonged. With more poor attitude the waitress said if she had to come back out the kids couldn't play anymore. I explained that I had them under control. This was met with more attitude. We left. We will not return. There are signs that say they are family...

Just visited for the first time during tourist in your own town on Saturday. They were giving away 3 free samples of anything they make. Everything I tried, and my cousin tried, was great but the one thing that stood out was their hoptonic. It’s a gin distilled with hops, and for a hophead like me it was incredible. By far the best gin I’ve ever tasted. Today is Monday, and I had To stop in to grab a bottle because I couldn’t stop thinking about it (I know, sounds like an alcoholic but it’s so good). Plus, it’s only $30 for a fifth. I’d spend about the same for a lesser gun at meijer, but this way I’m able to support a local business that makes a much better product. Also, Every spirit was $40 or less which is a great deal for such a high quality, locally made product. I will be back again, and Sanctuary spirits will be the main supplier of spirits for me now. First time coming here! Have to say ALL TIME BEST EXPERIENCE since I have moved to Michigan. Drinks were a craft of perfection by Tiffany! Out standing! Food. Let me tell you this is also a level you won’t find at ANY restaurant local. Everything is homemade and fresh drinks and food! Anna, personable and wonderful chef. Wings great and the homemade sauces. Meats are purchased local and fresh. Not frozen. Crafted spirits of a vast variety to purchase! Drinks to go and jugs to purchase to have your beer or hard cider at home. Just bring it back and get a refill! You can only give 5 stars on the review. If I could 10 out of 10.
