I don't know what happened to the other folks that reviewed this Gamestop, and maybe they have a new manager since, but I frequent this Gamestop (I'm there just about every Saturday morning through the school year because my son has karate lessons and I need something to do), and most times the manager is in. She's kind, she's nice, and she's always willing to talk (as long as they aren't busy) about the new collectibles and games that they've gotten in since last I saw her. I really appreciate that, because she's steered me toward a lot of items I would've missed out on.
Yes, it's a Gamestop. As a business that deals mostly in used games, yes, they're going to give you less than you think your game is worth, because they have to resell it for a profit. That's a business. If you have a problem with that, don't go to Gamestop; go to Craigslist or eBay. If you need quick credit for a game, THAT'S what Gamestop is for.
Frankly, this is the best Gamestop I've been in. Only once have I had a bad experience, and the manager cleared that right up. This one has some awesome stuff and is light years past any of the 8 zillion stores in the Greenville area, and as I'd previously boycotted Gamestop before that when we lived in Indiana (because most of the employees are rude know-it-alls that, sadly, I knew more than every single time), the fact that I go to a Gamestop at all says something about the quality of this particular...
Read moreMy experience. I've been sick with the flu so my husband went into this store to buy the game rise of the tomb raider to pass my time in bed. I go to put the game in not paying attention and realize that they put the definitive edition cd in the rise of the tomb raider case. The store closes before He could make it there tonight as we live 40+ min away, and it took calling 12 times to finally get someone to pick up the phone, so I am outta luck until tomorrow when I will make a special trip all the way back to town so they can switch it out. I understand things happen but when someone spends $60 on a game and regularly spends $100. Or more in your store it seems like you'd get a little more than I'm sorry, this is not a small mistake in my opinion. I am without a game that I paid for, and I will no longer be...
Read moreChaos in this store. Used games on the shelf, don't actually have them to sell. Over and over find a game in the used shelf, clerk complains about missing games and makes a bet it doesn't exist. He's right. Goes back to standing there doing nothing instead of reconciling the shelves to inventory. 2 other idle employees just shaking their heads at the mess with nothing to do. Meanwhile, several customers try to buy gift cards, but none of them are working either. Everyone just stands there selling nothing, fixing nothing, calling no one. Total mess I offered to lock the door as I left because it would be best for...
