Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Gresham

I love Chipotle. I've eaten at locations in both Olympia and Lacey (Washington) as well as a location or two in Portland (Oregon). There have been a few others I've been to in Washington, I believe, but it has been a while so I can't remember the cities.

This location in Gresham was definitely the worst of all of them. They didn't seem very careful about having their gloves touch the food (even though they have scoops to prevent that kind of cross-contamination), and the the tables and floors were astonishingly filthy. I was going to eat there, but chose to take my food home due to how dirty all of the seating options were.

My burrito tasted good, although I am getting sick now (a few days later). I have a weak immune system, so I can't say whether this is related to my eating there. I had to ask the girl making my burrito to change her gloves, which she did. She even followed my order down (which I really liked because that meant I didn't have to ask the other person to change their gloves, too).

Overall, I will likely avoid this location when able. Unfortunately, it is the closest location to me as it is right down the road from where I live. It is small for how busy it was when I was there (around 9pm?). All the ones I've been to prior were a bit larger, so it didn't feel super cramped even when busy. I am not opposed to trying this location eventually at least once more, but I'm definitely hesitant. Perhaps it will be a more comfortable experience if I go in when...

Chipotle has definitely declined over the last few years that I’ve eaten their food. My to go orders are always at least 15 minutes late, but tonight was the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever received at any restaurant. My to go order was set for 6:10 pm on a Thursday night. I showed up at 6:20 knowing that it would be out late as our orders always are. I checked the shelf a few times and it still wasn’t out. I asked the lady at the register if they had our order in their system and she said they put it out a while ago. I said i was there since 6:20 and it wasn’t there. She said they would remake it. At 6:55 it still wasn’t made, so I just got in line. When I was at the front I explained to the worker who happened to be the manager what had happened. He asked me to go to the register and talk to him instead of just making my food. I got annoyed and told him to just make my food so I can leave. I wasn’t yelling or cussing but was annoyed since the food was 45 minutes late already. He immediately told me he was the manager in a very angry, very rude tone and threatened to kick me out if I didn’t go to the register and talk to him So I went there and he said they’d make my food. Another 5 minutes later I finally got my food. I forgot to get his name but he was extremely rude and unprofessional, threatening to kick me out instead of simply making my food and easily resolving it. Thursday May 4th, 2023 7:00pm. I came in. The line was already passed the door. I waited and waited and waited. Finally got my chance to order while I was waiting. I watched 7 to 12 employees walking around high five each each other saying greetings. People were leaving. People were coming absolutely irresponsible. It should’ve only taken 5 to 10 minutes tops. It took 25 minutes and when I turned around the line was even longer than when I started. How are you gonna have that many employees and none of them are doing their job. They’re all talking while there’s a bunch of people who are getting upset and obviously came there to get food, but you’re not giving them the food and then I made a comment about the fact that it took me 25 minutes to get my food and the lady at the counter literally said OK ha ha no talk about I’m really sorry would you like a discount on your food? Nothing like that not even an explanation as to what was going on or why everything took so long. The worst chipotle I’ve ever been to and then I got my food. I just got home and it’s completely cold. Will not be going back.
