Pollard's Gourmet Grocery — Local services in Guthrie

Based on our experience this place seem to be where the owner's friends hang out. As soon as we walked in we felt like were interrupting an employee meeting or something. We got to listen to them discuss their animals being disemboweled by wild dogs. The owner talks very loud and his cell phone ringer is very loud. He conducted his business at the cash register just a couple of feet from where we were eating. He was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Our food was served by a boy that was probably around 10 or 11 years old. Maybe this kid is different but most young boys are not very clean and I don't want them serving my food. I don't know if he helped prepare the food or not... Everything was served using single use items. This includes soda served in cans, plastic silverware, bottled water and a cardboard food container. As a result this restaurant supplies a steady stream of trash to the landfill. Restaurants in Guthrie tend not to last very long. What the owner's need to keep in mind is that every customer that comes in their door is their most important customer. They also need to remember that they'll never get a second chance to make a good...

Lunch was not what I expected. The description on the menu sounded amazing but the sandwich and tacos didn't live up. I had the Ajax. The jalapeno cornbread was not what I consider cornbread at all. It was regular sandwich bread with cornmeal dusted around the edges and it was refrigerated cold. There was plenty of meat but it wasn 't a ten dollar sandwich. My wife had the chicken pesto tacos. They were not good at all. Again everything was refrigerated cold even the crunchy taco shell had just come from a refrigerator and nothing was warmed. Cold meat on a cold crunchy taco shell with a slab of cold mozzarella on top. If the menu had stated everything served cold we would not...

All of the fun things you have wanted (but didn't want to wait for)...jerky, jams, salad dressings, dessert toppings, pasta, even treats for your pets. Just go there and grab something for dinner, or a gift basket, a birthday treat, or a Christmas stocking, or just you...who deserves a treat...
