Self checkout is a disaster.
Every store has multiple people at registers except this Aldi which is trying an experiment to have you help yourself. I get it. But it's not realistic. Older people get confused. The machine says to keep moving right after you just scanned an item. It's aggressive. Having someone just stand at the self checkout would be ideal. However, the staff is asked to stock, restock, checkout customers, etc. I understand the business model. Less for more.
Please slow down the process and help people figure out their options.
Have someone at a register all day. Have more checkout lines aside from 1.
We appreciate the opportunity to shop for less. I like the return the cart and get your quarter back. I like the idea. But people need guidance.

Read moreNot a good experience for me. I bought a reusable bag which I shopped with. When I went to pay I put the bag up first, thinking the cashier would use it. She didn't. She put everything in a cart. When I tried to move the cart to the side to bag the items she yelled at me because I didn't come in with a cart. I wasn't trying to take the cart just move out the way of the next person in line. There was another cart at a register that wasn't being used, but she said it was her employees cart? All that over a quarter seems ridiculous. If they are not going to bag they should have a spare cart for people who didn't need one in the first place to bag their items. Needless to say she was rude. Maybe next weekend I'll go with a bag full of quarters and "rent" all the carts so no one...
