Title: Terrible Experience – Defective Product and Zero Customer Service
Review: I purchased a Philips 5500 coffee machine from this store on August 7, 2025 as a birthday gift for my wife’s 37th birthday. I paid $1,185.45 and kept it in the original box, gift-wrapped, until giving it to her today, August 10, 2025.
She was so excited to open it. On the very first attempt to use the machine, it wouldn’t draw water. We tried multiple times, but it was clearly defective — possibly a manufacturing issue.
I immediately called the store. The first woman who answered barely let me speak, repeatedly saying “hold on,” then transferred me to another woman who spoke to me in a dismissive, condescending way. She told me to “contact the company directly” and claimed the machine was now “used.” Used? This was the first attempt to operate it!
I explained I wanted to return or exchange it, as I have 30 days on the receipt. She rudely told me, “I can’t help you and I don’t care what you think,” then hung up on me. When I called back, the same woman answered again — this time pretending to “try to help” — but still told me to call again tomorrow, as if she was doing me a favor.
Now I’m left chasing my money and dealing with emails and follow-ups — all because of a brand new defective product.
This was an awful experience — both seeing my wife’s disappointment on her special day and realizing I made the mistake of buying from the wrong store. They smile at you when you pay, but the moment you need service, they turn their back. Shame on you.

Read moreAs a designer this was the worst experience of my career. They cancel orders without notifying, they took $808.61 out of my account and claim they never received the money. Even after I have shown them screenshots of the money being taken out of my account they still claim the card was declined. Not only did they steal $808.61 out of my account without me receiving the product this is also the SECOND time it happened with the same item. First time I saw it being canceled (with out notifying me) and they gave me an additional 10% discount, second time they ordered it and took money claimed they haven’t received funds. I have sent bank statements but nothing seems to be helping. At this point I’m just going to charge my money back or hire an attorney. Read moreAngie, the Store Manager, is amazing! Yesterday (Sunday morning), I arrived at the Store shortly after 10:00am. Not knowing what time the Store opened, Angie came to the door and said that they would be opening at 11. When I told her we’d come back, she asked if we were there to pick up or place an order. I told her I just wanted to place a quick order, and she graciously allowed us to come in. Angie went above and beyond placing my order. She also saved me a large sum of money on shipping as well. Angie was very professional, personable and thorough. I especially appreciated her customer focus. When retail brick and mortar stores are closing more frequently, Angie knows what it means to serve customers with such a pleasant personality and personal touch. I am grateful for her initiative when most retail managers would never even approach the door before opening hours. Thanks again for all of your help Angie....
