I’ll give this place 2 stars only because I’ve enjoyed it many times before and the concept itself is fantastic. Unfortunately, our last visit deserves zero stars due to some shady overcharging for drinks.
We came to celebrate a close friend’s 40th birthday and ran into the same problem we’d had before—Russian songs weren’t working in the first room. The staff initially offered YouTube as a solution (not ideal), but eventually moved us to another room. It wasn’t the smoothest start, but it didn’t ruin the night. Our first server, who was actually a bartender covering someone’s shift, was excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and really tried.
Things went completely sideways when it came time to pay. I had two Old Fashioneds, and my check came out to about $75. When I asked if cocktails were really $30–$35 each, our server said yes and explained that’s why she had suggested a bottle and that it is way better to always get a bottle and went with whole story saying I only have two drinks on the check. Trusting that, I just paid. Later, chatting outside, we compared bills and realized another guest had also been overcharged ($70+ for two Belvedere sodas). When we double-checked the menu, cocktails were listed at $15 each.
We went back to ask for receipts, and sure enough, charges had been added for three tequila reposados—none of which anyone in our group ordered. When questioned, the staff got defensive, said they need to look at cameras (which they did for several minutes), they’d remove the charges, and the server denied ever saying drinks were $30–$35 (three of us heard the same thing). She even gave me a different name (when asked) than what was on the receipt, and when asked again, reacted with more attitude on how I know her name instead of apologizing. It was embarrassing watching lie after lie role over after you stealing money from customers and possibly business.
They promised a refund 20 mins later or so. Out of curiosity, I checked today and only $58 of the $71 was refunded. So, apparently, they still kept the tip hahahahha on service that was deceptive and disrespectful.
I spent years in restaurant industry and it breaks my heart to write a bad review, but I really don’t respect businesses that lie or try to cover mistakes with attitude instead of accountability. PlugIN has a great concept and can be so much fun, but the service standard is shockingly low. Until management addresses INTEGRITY and training, I can’t recommend it beyond the...
Read moreI recently hosted a karaoke session for my Class Reunion Committee with a group of classmates, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. I had spoken to two managers over the phone to book a room for 10-15 people, driving down from Palm Beach County specifically for this event. However, the pricing details I received during the booking process were vastly different from what we encountered upon arrival.
The host informed us that, due to our group size, only two cards could be used to pay for everyone, which was contrary to what I had been told. I was under the impression that I could reserve the room with my card and a fee for just one person, allowing each attendee to pay individually. This miscommunication created confusion and frustration, especially since the front desk staff were quite dry and uninviting, leaving a negative impression on the group, including several military members.
Additionally, the location was difficult to find, and it would have been helpful if their website provided information about nearby businesses for parking to assist out-of-town guests.
Although we arrived late for our session because of heavy rain and traffic, something we understood as part of the arrangement, we ultimately paid for two hours, even though we only utilized the room for about an hour and a half. While we were fine with that, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being underwhelmed compared to my earlier awesome karaoke experience in Jacksonville, Florida. Given all that, I wouldn’t recommend this venue based on what we...
Read moreWent for the first time to plug-in for a friend's event and when we got there, I gave their name, and the receptionist passed me to the manager and said it would be $60 something dollars which is the price of 2 hours and 2 people. (thats all they told me nothing else just the price and asked for my card)
We went in and an hour later they told us if everyone wanted to stay an extra hour, and I went up to them to make sure they weren't going to charge us an extra hour since we just got there. they said they would be charging us because the host made the reservation for 2 hours and they charged us for that and not the time. I asked why the manager or any of the staff didn't inform me at the start and that their sign at the front just shows hour listing but she just shrugged her shoulders. We decided to leave pretty unprofessional that not even the manager informed us of anything, ive gotten more info at fast food places walking in.
On top of that their system has no songs, unless you go extra extra mainstream they won't have the song and even popular artist only have a handful of songs.
TLDR: Terrible customer service charged us 2 hours for 1 and they don't even...
