It isn't every day that you walk into a venue and find a spinning carousel wheel hanging majestically above the bar. Carousel Club, with its magical, playful vibe, is undoubtedly a feast for the eyes. The venue exudes an unmistakable allure, brilliantly designed to tantalize and entertain.
Luminosity is not lacking here. Between the vibrant TV screens and the daytime-bright lights illuminating the venue. But, there's such a thing as too much light, especially for a venue striving to offer a nightclub experience. The club is cloaked in an almost permanent daylight, transforming the potential for a moody, intimate experience into a neon-lit spectacle that is perhaps a tad too radiant.
When it comes to the auditory experience, Carousel Club has it half right. The sound is quite immersive, loud enough to provide a pulsating vibe, but the clarity of the tracks leaves room for improvement. This could potentially be attributed to the open-air nature of the venue, but it's a detail that shouldn't be overlooked.
My biggest gripe, however, is with the music selection. In a city bursting with unique beats, the Carousel Club offers nothing more than your typical radio hits, played in a monotonous jukebox style. The DJs' offerings could have been lifted straight from a mainstream Apple Music or Spotify playlist, lacking the creativity and uniqueness one would expect in such an aesthetically striking location.
One aspect of the Carousel Club that truly shines is the staff. From the moment you step into the venue, you're greeted by a team that is not only polite and helpful but also exceedingly accommodating. Their professionalism adds a redeeming touch to the overall experience.
Regarding the culinary offerings, the food is adequate but far from inspiring. In a city renowned for its culinary excellence, Carousel Club’s menu unfortunately struggles to stand out, delivering dishes that are passable but not particularly memorable.
The same can be said for the bar program. The cocktail list lacks innovation, with offerings that are uninspiring, despite being priced as top-shelf. In a city renowned for its creative mixologists, Carousel Club's bar program needs to shake things up, offering drinks that match its impressive aesthetics and lofty prices.
Overall, Carousel Club is a venue with immense potential, characterized by its enchanting decor and friendly staff. However, it seriously needs to dim the lights, tweak the sound system, diversify the musical offerings, and up the ante with the food to truly live up to its impressive facade. In its current state, my experience leaves me rating it at a 2.5 out of 5. I do hope that the venue takes these considerations to heart and elevates itself to the level of grandeur it is capable of achieving.
Note: During the day im sure the Venue is great and lends itself to the surrounding race track and casino- however at Night the Venue needs to transform and transport you and i feel it does not. This may be good enough for most but it can be so much more than a beautiful venue that is laden...
Read moreI honestly didn’t know what to expect upon arriving to this SPECTACULAR venue. Without conducting one of my normal internet review searches before hand, I let the facility do ALL the talking.
The entrance is decorated nicely with more than ample FREE PARKING (valet optional). If your bringing your DSLR, don’t waste your energy unless you’re willing to check it in at the reception desk. We didn’t know that going in and we’re forced to do so. But that didn’t stop us from whipping these iPhones out to catch some angles.
I was immediately greeted with a backyard barbecue feel as people played bean bag toss and ate under shady umbrella tables. Children ran and played and the adults did what they did best! The atmosphere was extremely family friendly, yet there were three bars where a multitude of drinks are concocted.
There is a choice of three food truck style restaurants to choose from if you’re feeling that alcohol hit the bottom of your stomach.
We chose to eat from Taquerias Los Altos and it was GREAT! I tried the Esquites for the very first time and was HOOKED! (You know I love some spice and it was PERFECT!) We drank mojitos and had a citrusy bubbly mimosa that was the crowd favorite because after WE ordered bottles of the same popped up all around the complex! (Real influencers)
Now for the feature, the CAROUSEL! 😩😍 It was spectacular to watch come to life every few moments. I only wished they decorated the area with one or two original carousel pieces as “aesthetics”. But you can’t really take away from the other main focus, THE HORSES! They made their GRAND appearances and it was a sight, and smell, to behold lol! The DJ played a phenomenal set and there was even a live saxophonist walking around serenading the crowd!
I would definitely recommend visiting Carousel Club in the future! I had a PHENOMENAL time fellowshipping with other local influencers and just enjoying...
Read moreThe venue itself is stunning—the concept of a carousel bar is super creative, and both the food and drinks were great. Visually, the place is a win.
But the real issue was the DJ. I came with a group of 20 people celebrating three birthdays, and unfortunately, the music put a damper on what could’ve been a phenomenal night. Everyone in our group agreed: the set was weak.
The DJ focused almost entirely on old-school Latin reggaeton and outdated Brazilian tracks from over a decade ago. It felt like a copy-paste playlist with zero live mixing, no mashups, no remixes—just basic transitions and no real energy. He refused every request, didn’t engage with anyone, and gave off an attitude like he was above the crowd.
As someone who’s been a DJ for 8 years and also booked DJs for festivals, bars, clubs, birthdays, and corporate events, I know what it takes to build a vibe. A good DJ reads the room and adapts. This guy did none of that—and the result was fewer people dancing, less energy at the bar, and an overall vibe that felt flat.
It’s not necessarily about firing him. But honest feedback is needed. If he’s open to hearing it and adjusting, great. But if not, this could keep affecting the guest experience. DJing isn’t about ego—it’s about connection, humility, and knowing how to make people feel good. That’s what...
