I went to academy today( 8/14/22 sunday ) to get a cooling hat that i seen online that i needed for work, my mom and i could not find the hat after walking around the store , my mom stopped and asked an employee if she could tell us where we could find the hat she tried looking it up on her scanner and even asked a coworker and tried looking in two different areas , we eventually couldnt locate it and we thanked her for helping us and let her go , we continued to walk around the store one more time and as we were headed to the front she was walking to us with the hat we had looked for she had found the hat and walked around the strore until she found us again we wwre very much appericiated for the extra and over beyond customer service that she did to help us we didnt get her name but she was a short young lady with highlited dreads and a very nice and friendly personality we just really wanted her and the academy in hammond la to know that she made our experience today a great one and thank you...

Pushed through with no wait behind, bad card machine blamed on my bank choice, suggested it was my fault because I didn't immediately use the what she called the "wifi signal" on the card. Nonetheless, I found what I was looking for even though prices are removed\not updated\hidden on individual items. What's the game here? Had to download the app in the store so I could scan barcodes and so I could know what I was expected to pay at the register. Neat trick but folks want to know the cost when they pick up the item. Also wasn't able to see the sales on socks that I viewed at home online before I went to buy in person. There were no prices on the products? So no sales, huh? I don't want to be rushed through the checkout process and I wish to see the price of each product as it's rung up. Why can't I see this? Read moreI’ve shop at the Academy store in Hammond since it first open and not many problems with customer service until within the last year are so. I normally know what I’m going to purchased before I get there and this morning was no different. One of my reels malfunctioned this past weekend and I was going in to replace it (Shimano 150XG). I went straight to the counter in the back and made sure that one was in stock. I waited thinking someone would come by, I hit the customer service button a few times and waited. No one ever showed, I did walk down a couple of isles but did not see anyone. Bottom line is I can shop like most Americans and order the same reel on Amazon for a few dollars cheaper, free shipping and have it the next day. I tried to stay local with my fishing and hunting needs but I require a little better customer service than I...
