The food tastes good but what is the real draw is their drink options. They have fantastic smoothies, teas, and other fruit based drinks. I loved the music playing, it took me back to my childhood in the 90's. The highly recommended smoothies aside, foodwise the restaurant is decent. Nothing was over or under cooked. Nothing tasted off, everything seemed fresh and well prepared. In terms of elevating the food to more than their component ingredients, this isn't the restaurant I would go to. There isn't anything wrong with that, it just means if you want sushi and miso soup, Nagoya is right down the street. If you want Mexican, El Paso is in town. Looking over the menu, I would say the draw for here is the variety and care for higher quality ingredients. I will say that their teriyaki chicken tastes better than Nagoya and several other local options. I was left feeling confused about what makes it Hawaiian food with the exception of including pineapple in some of the dishes, which is probably why I took one star off. This feels more like Hawaiian/Asian fusion with a small...
Read moreOkay I’ve been going here since it opened and I get the same things every time. I come in today and noticed the prices went up but they never updated the menu and to find out they actually cut down on the proportions is disheartening . Like I basically got a bowl of dry ssa noodles…it was supposed to be tonkatsu. And I asked for more broth and they wanted to charge me extra and lied and said that the proportions have always been the same LIES. Then the excuse was that the noodles soaked up the broth…really? Because I just watched them make it fresh and it was still low af. So yea the quality has definitely gone down hill. It sucks bc they used to have good food. Def won’t be back.
Update: so the new reason as to why the proportions “look” did is because of the change in bowls…lol that’s funny bc this is the same exact size and type of bowl I’ve been getting and I know this bc I recycle them like don’t...
Read moreAll around everything was lacking in flavour and was a low quality representative of a poke restaurant. I will make the drive to BR, Mandeville, or NOLA for Poke again. In my bowl, Some of the tuna was good, some of the tuna was not fresh and some of the tuna was actually gray in color and had that horrible “fishy” taste. The snow crab was not fresh either. The zucchini noodles were AWESOME!! The pork goyza was not all pork and was made with some fish fillet additive, the dough was way too thick, it was not pan fried long enough and tasted...
