My husband and I eat here often and never really have any issues. However, I cannot say that about our visit today. I went to the restroom when we sat. When I returned, someone had already taken our drink order. She brought our drinks out and had asked if we were ready to order, to which we were not since I just returned from the restroom (which she saw me sit). When we told her no, she kind of got an attitude with us. A little while later, another server came to us and asked if we were ready, which we were. She took our order and put it in. After that, it started going down hill. The 2 tables around us both came in after us and ordered well after us, they both received their food first. My husband and I both got very simple sushi rolls, so it should not have taken as long as it did. My husband's sushi came out about 5 minutes before mine, which Shouldn't they all be brought out together? Once she dropped off my husband's food, she never came to us again. A different person brought out my sushi. A different server brought my husband a refill. I had no drink left, and the server never once passed back to refill mine. In fact, we had about 3-4 workers pass and no refill. The server finally got my refill she we had to wave her over. We didn't see her again after that. We waited about 10 minutes after we were completely finished eating for the check. We finally decided to get up and go to the front to pay since we really didn't know who the server was. When they saw us getting up, the server finally brought us the check.
We've been there multiple times and at different times. We've been there when they were really busy and really slow and have never had service this bad. Today, they were busy, but that shouldn't be any reason we received poor service.
I've worked at sushi places and know that some rolls do take more time than others, but they are always brought out together.
Very disappointed in...
Read moreThe food isnt that good anymore at all. I would say the only “good” food you can get out of them is hibachi on a good day. Do NOT sit down at the booths and order food; your food will come out almost absolutely disgusting. The last three times i went there they have just progressively gotten worse. Also the staff there arent too kind at all, pretty rude if you ask me. They have an up charge of $4.50 to have fried rice instead of white rice. Now I COMPLETELY understand with all the price increase with food and stocks that sometimes it has to be that expensive. Although if i am paying $4.50 to have fried rice at least make it right. The rice looked gross, old, and didnt taste goos. There were white chunks al inside of it and it was barely cooked what so ever. Whenever i asked the server for fried rice he continued to raise his voice and argue with me that it was. So i apologized and said okay well i dont want to pay for this because personally i dont think it was fried rice (debate for yourself with the pictures). Even the miso soup wasnt good, now how you mess that up i have no clue. Then the manager came to speak to me asking whats wrong, i was trying not to make whole ordeal out of this, so i told them ill keep it and pay for it. I proceeded to leave the rice there without touching it after paying. Other customers were having trouble too since i can hear the conversation next to me. None of them looked pleased in the booth section. If you want good service and GUARANTEED good food no matter where you sit in their restaurant, i know recommend Kirin. Before these last incidents i favored Nagoya more, but they have now lost another...
Read moreNormally, the atmosphere and food is excellent, but this time my visit was not so great. My waitress was very attentive and kind. This was the first time that I have to complain about the food. The chef was ok, but the food was not good. He used too much seasoning and it made the food extremely salty. He was told but I don't think that he understood me. The manager was told and she had the staff, in the kitchen, to correct it. This is where the problem comes in. She was not pleasant when she returned with our food. She made it be my fault. The owner, his wife, the manager and several employees came and stood on the wall in front of our table/station. They stated and whispered amongst themselves, until we got up and left. The waitress had no idea what was going on until the end. We had several other waitress to come and ask questions. It made my guests and I feel so uncomfortable. The other group said the same thing, "The food is salty." They tried to compensate us and them, with ice cream. I have always chose Nagoya, when my friends chose the other restaurant. I was not pleased...
