Wow! First time here tonight and wasn't sure what to expect. Don't let the location fool you, once inside your going to love it! Ordered an appetizer of the spicy edamame, price was a bit higher than other places we have been but the flavor was outstandingly delicious! It was more of a sweet heat flavor which I found interesting but really good. For $7.50 I would have thought the portion would have been bigger.
Main entree my wife ordered teriyaki chicken with vegetable's, I tried the chicken and it had a really good flavor to it. I would describe it as a bit of smokey, similar to a BBQ flavor and teriyaki sauce. I went out on a limb tonight and ordered a sushi roll, I decided on the "Geisha" which was one of the BEST rolls I've had in a very long time! This roll was so full of flavor it didn't need any wasabi or soy sauce! The pieces were so big I had to cut them each in half to eat them. Portion was very good for the price.
I also tried a 2 piece unagi or what they call eel, this was some of the freshest eel I've had in a while, you know it's quality and fresh when it just melts in your mouth.
Overall this is going to be our go to Japanese restaurant but just be prepared they are a little bit pricier than others in town. The flavor and service out-weighed...
Read moreThis place may look nice but the food and service are a different story. We decided to give this spot a shot due to the late night and did not want to drive to our usual restaurant in Belton. Well I am sad to say this place was a huge disappointment. From the outrageous prices and the lack of quality for their food I can say with all assurance we will not be back. Who charges $6.00 for a house salad? Not only that but a Spicy Pork entree was $18.00 and it was not good at all. We received the pork almost immediately after ordering and knew it was not a good sign. The taste was off and the pork was mushy. It tasted old and microwaved. The sushi I ordered was bad as well. The crab and shrimp had a weird taste and the soy paper has a weird taste as well. One of the rolls had spicy tuna and I never had it with the consistency of mashed potatoes. I am hoping this was a bad day but I doubt that. The waitstaff was a bit off and did not know their menu well. If you like to pay Austin Prices and get elementary food this is your place. For us…....
Read moreWe have been coming here for over two years but have steadily noticed a decline in the taste and quality of food. We still continued to visit because we understood the food wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible. So it at least took care of the occasional craving for sashimi. However during this last visit, we tried the Potato Shrimp. The potato noodles were very burnt on the outside and when we brought it up to staff they told us the policy is “once you order, you have to pay for it”. The owner was then called over and she approached with attitude and stated they had to burn the potato noodles to cook the shrimp. As I’ve had this dish before I told her that burnt should never be a goal. She told me they don’t take food off the bill. Which would have been understandable had the shrimp been eaten. However a bite of one shrimp had been taken. I still sent the dish back and paid for it, but the attitude was completely unnecessary as was the burnt appetizer. Feel like it’s time to start exploring other options...
