I wish I could give this place 6 out of 5 stars. The combination of impeccable hospitality, excellence in their vocation and their commending dedication to aiding others, was unparalleled to most. On my way home, my car tire became deflated and I attempted for hours to try and take it off and put a temporary spare on. Unbeknownst to me, the last lug on my wheel had been stripped and I could’t get it off. As I looked over, I saw Republic Speedshop and didn’t think they would help a guy with a regular 2017 Toyota Camry since I always see luxury cars go in and out, but I gave it a shot anyway since I didn’t have much of a choice. As soon as I walked in, I was swiftly met by the manager Ed and he personally came out himself on a late Saturday afternoon to come help me. He tried multiple contraptions (some I have never seen before) to try and help me take the last lug off but to no avail. We came to the concensus to put some air in the tire, bring it a block down and into to the shop where his mechanic will assist once they come in on Monday. While there, he provided me water, consultation/expectations on the price of a new tire/lug, and treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. That Monday, Ed delivered by fixing the tires, replacing the lug and performing a mount and balance, all before it got late. Overall it was a great service and a life saver. Also, seeing the passion Ed had for helping others in need and taking care of people with car troubles/needs in the community was amazing. I highly recommend for anyone, luxury/fast cars or regular cars like me, to go to this place...
Read moreI have always wanted to support local businesses, but my experiences with this shop have been extremely disappointing. A few months ago, I went to this shop to have an exhaust and a spoiler installed. I had sent them the brand and photos in advance and agreed on a price. However, after the installation was completed, they made excuses, claiming that this particular spoiler was difficult to install. In reality, it was a simple task that only required four screws! Furthermore, the bumper had already been removed during the exhaust installation, and it comes pre-drilled with mounting holes. There was no need to drill additional holes in the bumper. This should have been a job completed in under 20 minutes, yet they tried to overcharge me by $600.
This time, I decided to give them another chance. We scheduled an appointment in advance, but on the agreed date, they didn’t even open their shop! Today, I gave them one last opportunity. However, they insisted that I hand over my car for them to drive it into the garage, even though the garage door is right on the street. I really don’t see the point of this request. I told them I was in a hurry and reminded them that last time, when they drove my car, they left the interior dirty. Therefore, I refused to let anyone else drive my car. Their attitude was incredibly rude, and they ended up kicking me out.
This kind of service is truly disappointing. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreI’ve done business with them three times.
The first time was to replace a ballooned tire—no issues there.
The second was to mount a new wheel and tire on the front passenger side—also fine.
The third time, I asked them to fix a bent front driver-side wheel and replace the tire. I specifically requested that both front tires be rotated to the back since my car is xDrive (rear-biased).
One of the owners, Mars, told me he had NO TIME to rotate them and that it would be $80 extra. This didn’t make sense since they were the ones replacing both front tires, and rotation isn’t an unreasonable ask. Another guy there initially agreed over text but tried to brush me off, falsely claiming my car had a staggered setup—which it doesn’t—and then said it’s “better to keep new tires up front.”
In the end they just didn’t do it. No apology—Mars simply said, “I don’t have time to rotate it.” Ed, the other owner, offered to do it another day but I ended up going to Mavis a few blocks away and had it rotated for free, no hassle.
Sharing this to reflect my experience as objectively as possible—it’s just difficult doing business with...
